Hi friends,
I saw some great threads here so really looking for a resolution on my problem. I own a Philips HTS3545 Home theatre which supports 1080i contents. My TV is Samsung 40" Series 5 model which is also a full HD 1080p support TV. Every time i play any HD content on my DVD player of 720p or 1080 resolution i see "video resolution not supported" error but the dvd player plays the content with audio. Its just the video is not visible. Plz suggest the possible issues... They are connected on a HDMI port... Thanks in advance... |

Try setting your DVD player to interlaced, that is not progressive scan. That should resolve your problem and since your TV deinterlaces the "i" to "p" anyway you will see a 1080p picture.

Many players interrogate the display over HDMI to determine the resolution of the display and this doesn't always work.
If the display misses the interrogation message or doesn't support resolution interrogation, it won't respond. Or the display may respond with a format the player doesn't support (such as 1366 x 768 displays that report that they are, indeed, 1366 x 768 when the only standard HD signal formats are 720p, 1080i and 1080p. |

I am able to play DVD videos of 720x560 resolution which is fine for a DVD player... its only when i play 1280x720 or 1920x1280 which is 720p or 1080p content on my DVD player it gives this error... i still fail to understand if my player is 1080 support why it cant play 720p videos...do i require a blu ray player only to play such HD videos ? i heard from some .. HDMI 1.3 cable type is the issue... & my cable cannot deliver such HD content as it nay not be 1.3 .. can this be a reason ???
