Default just another upconverter

How can you call it true HD? It's another faux pas in the upconversion market. I call it junk if you want "true" hi-def.

Actually it's not just another "complete" faux pas. This device plays WMV9 files, which can be true 720p and 1080i content as well as true HD DIVX files. There are several commercial movie titles available in WMV9. Playing standard DVDs and upconverting them to an HD resolution is the only "faux pas" portion of the spec.

That' player is exactly the same as the IOData Linkplayer2 except it has DVI output where as the LP2 only has component... don't feed me that faux pax garbage... you just can't accept the fact that some of us are already enjoying FULL HD resolution programs from a DVD player... Don't even really care about HD-DVD's because I already watch HD Movies burned onto REGULAR DVDr's in that player... only reason I would want HD DVD's is for the increased storage space, but hey burners probably won't come out FOREVER so right now im freakin stoaked about my Linkplayer2

Man I would like to learn how to do those .TS files on a RED Laser DVD ? Are you using compression codec VC-1 , MPEG 4 ?

The reason I like the JVC unit is it will do native 720P VC-1 DVD's and I could use the DVE PRO 720P WMV-HD version to ISF my Hitachi TX-100 ...

How many titles are available in HD format with this player?

I think I heard there were something like 8-9 movies available for purchase in the format. If that is true, how many times could I keep watching those same movies.

I will not pirate movies to see them in HD.

You can download .TS streams capped from Satelite HD sources, there simply digital media files... burn them like you would any data DVD and the media player will stream them right off of it, of course over Network is much easier... so I don't burn much, but I just thought i'd let you know that the technology to watch full 1080i HD films is out NOW.... Satelite companies air HD movies all the time, and are posted on http://www.altbinarieshdtv.com/ have a look for your self... and just so you know the component output on this thing is incredible... dont let that hold you back waiting for DVI, I bet you won't notice any diffrence...

Default What about NAS access?

Does anyone know if this or any other network ready DVD player can access a NAS device - rather than the PC running some wacky server software?
