The past 2 years I have used a Harmony 659 and have programmed it using the Logitec Computer site. Now I want to swap it with a Harmony 520.. Is there anyway to copy the program that is in the 659 into the 520? Reason: Logitec Tech Support made a few changes to the program when setting up the 659 to get my sound system to work OK. or will I have to do a complete new setup for the 520?

The Harmony website has information about which remotes can have their set-ups transferred to new remotes.

I found that you can just use "Replace Remote" on Logitech's software and it will transfer the setup from one remote to another one.

Sorry, I missed this thread.. As Stew stated all you need to do is connect it and hit the replace remote tab. I used this a few months ago when I upgraded from my 550 to an 880 for my main system downstairs. It simply copied everything over as is. Then I just reprogrammed my 550 for my upstairs setup. It worked great. then when you connect back up to the site for future changes both will be saved and will that config will pop up when you connect it.

A word of warning. I just upgraded from an 880 to a One using the Replace Remote option. All of my activities transfered just fine, but none of the custom buttons made it. The manual doesn't address that problem. Harmony CS says I should have seen a screen warning that custom buttons will be lost. But, it wasn't there. (I went back and tried the upgrade again. Still no warning screen.) I had my 880 for four years and had a considerable investment in those buttons. Oh well.
Aside from that, I love the One so far. |
