I am looking for a remote that will allow me to control LCD TV, DVD and digital cable while having the DVD/cable box out of the line of sight of the remote. That is, I have a built in area for the components but want to hang the TV on the other side of the room. Anyone have a recommendation for a remote that would do this through the TV or attachment to the TV? Thanks. I believe an IR receiver is the right product, but don't know which products are the best. I also don't want to spend alot. $100-150. I don't need a universal remote per se, just the receiver to mount on the TV. Thanks!

I have seen repeter systems but I dont know how well that will work. I would look into a universal RF remote, they are a little more than your budget, but everything will be better integrated and operate better. You spent the time to hang a plasma and have a seperate AV room, you might as well spend a little more for a nice remote.

Do you know of any good universals that would allow me to keep the cable / dvd boxes in the closet and still be able to use them?

I purchased this kit for $90. Its an IR reciever kit. $350 is a bit more than I was looking to spend. Any thoughts on a good IR univeral for around $50? Anyone have experience with the dinky link kit? Thanks!

I seen the 890 floating around onsale for as low as $199 ($229 at Amazon now).. I also seen them going for as little as $150 for a refurb model. TigerDirect has a refurb for $169 that comes with a 90 day warranty. Add a 1 year extended warranty for $29 if you like. It comes with 1 RF extender that controls up to 4 components I believe . Not sure if that is still outta your price range, but not a bad deal on a very good remote. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...QztBB!CjCECjCE Edit: I am not familuar with the Dinky Kit, so can't comment on it..But seems like a nice solution for only $100. But if you can also use the wonderful "All in One" features of this universal remote as well, the 890 is the way to go IMO..
