I never even noticed that until you mentioned it! Never had a reason to hold it that close to my ear when shaking it to get the remote display back on!
Now I'll be listening for it all the time, and worry if I don't hear it.. LOL!

That makes sense about the rattle but mine does still seem a little loud. you'd think they would have a way to make that sensor work without making the remote sound like its broke.?

I have been getting more familiar with the remote and all the options and i have definitly changed my opinion about it. i love how all of my devices come on and go off together, it automaticly changes hdmi inputs, and i think my favorite option is the channel logos you can save on your media button so you dont have to remember that stations number. there are definitly a lot of "little things" that this remote does that adds up and has made me a very happy customer.

Make sure to check for software updates now and then. Lots of potential in these remotes if you take the time to explore it.

Mine only rattles a bit when I shake it up, which I don't plan to do much. So it does not bother me. My 550 is that same way. I never even noticed it unless I shake it up rite by my ear. Perhaps yours got extra loose in shipping or something and is rattling around more. Or you have Super Spiderman hearing.. Mine is sensitive enough that even vibration of my footsteps nearby or placing a cup on the table next to it will light it up.. If it is that bad, you might want to send it back for a new one and see. Since your computer/Harmony server keeps all you data, all you need to do is plug your new 1 in and it will sync rite up with the info you already entered..

BTW, the Amazon price went back up to $165 shipped now for some reason.. Glad I got mine when it was only $109..

I have the Nyko IR usb attachment and it does everything except turn it on but it comes on when I load the disk anyway. It will control the dashboard and you can use it like the controller when looking at photo's, music or video's. It work's pretty good when looking around the PSN store also.
