Sharp remote ga535wjsa

I just moved into a new place with some friends and the individual who I replaced seems to have taken or misplaced his comcast remote. Now I'm at a loss as to properly controlling the cable box. I previously set my TV's remote to work on the box, but it doesn't have complete controls. I can't seem to remember how to program codes into this remote (model ga535wjsa). If anyone knows the steps I would appreciate any help.

Not sure on your remote but if you have a DVR, many TV remotes don't handle that fuctionality well if at all. As far as code help goes, what is the model of your cable box? You can go online and get them by punching them in or downloading the manual for your TV. I would call your cable company and say your current remote is on the fritz. With Dish, I had an issue with a remote and they just sent me a new one and didn't want the old one back. Perhaps that is the same for your cable company. If not, another option would to get a new universal remote like the Harmony 550. I got mine for around $75 and it works great with all my devices. Or you can get a cheaper universal remote for around $25 or so at your local Radio Shack or BB.
