Talking Urc Mx810

Well I have been playing around with this new remote from URC for a couple of weeks now. The remote is very nice and the color graphics are great. Programming is completely different than any of URC's previous remotes.

I have spent over 5 hours trying different progamming techniques for this remote with my EQ. The toggle fuunction with the remote programming does not work with this TV.

My EQ includes:
Hitachi 42HDT79 direct connect to Time Warner Cable for QAM Tuner use.

Denon DVD1740 hooked up direct to TV through HDMI

Onkyo TXSR504

The only problem I see with this remote is the Hitachi does not have a discrete code for the ant input. So automating the remote to switch inputs is next to impossible in my set up.

This remote would work fantastically if you are able to use a cable or sat box and discretely choose your input.

Make sure your setup allows for discrete inputs for this remote.

Programming always needs a bottle of asperin...

This is a newer remote than I've seen, but it can probably do more for less!

Use different models of Hitachi tv's...maybe another model does exactly what yours does but has discrete codes. Usually, they will be the super duper UltraVision model...probably a different size...but who cares...all you want are codes!

Discrete codes does make a system much easier! Have you tried to build a macro w/ the TV button that takes it to your "favorite station", then just change to whatever channel you want to watch after that?

Hitachi makes excellent products, can you delete inputs that you aren't using to make it easier to switch if the previous doesn't work?
