Talking Voice Prompt Universal Remote at Radio Shack by UEI

I was looking for a universal remote for my 5 TVs with 5x 5x 4x 3x and 3x different remotes for different brand models. So after a lot of research and many purchases/returns of crappy and expensive remotes even the Harmony 659 at $100 bucks..

I got this one..

15-2146 - 6-in-1 with Macro learning & learning modes with female voice prompts. Pre-code 45 page manual and auto scan codes. There is also a replay button too and sleep timers built into the remote. I use this with my Hauppauge MediaMVP and used the learning mode with macro buttons along with standard buttons. I can set the above to auto backlight or off as shown above. It can give the MediaMVP sleep features actually all devices can have that if they don't have it already.

For more info how it works I wrote a review about it here: http://www.epinions.com/content_406503722628

Tested with all of the following... I've purchased 5 of them just for $14.97 Note: this is a 2006 model with updated codes a lot in fact.

Network Media Streaming
5x Hauppauge Media MVP - use learning mode with macros...
2x Helius Media MVP - use learning mode with macros...

Dolby Digital/DST Surround Sound Recievers (default) AUD is setup for Pioneer - use learning on 3 macros
1x Pioneer VSX 608D
1x Pioneer VSX 509S
1x Pioneer VSX 490

DVD/Recorders - pre-codes and learning mode macros
1x LiteOn DVD/DVD Recorder LW-5101
1x Toshiba DVD 5-DISC
1x Philip Divx DVD/Player

Digital Cable Boxes with or without SD/HDTV and DVR - used pre-codes and learning for two macros
1x Motorola DCT 2000
1x Motorola DCT 6200
1x Motorola DCT 6412
1x Motorola DCT 6416

TV
1x Emerson EW3706 37" LCD Widescreen HDTV - pre-code mode
1x Trutech PLV1615T U - 15" Thin LCD SD/HDTV - learning mode and macros
1x Daewoo 13" TV - pre-code
1x Quasar 13" TV/Combo - pre code
1x Panasonic 36" TV -pre code
1x Pansonic 27" TV - pre code

tipstir, I see you got bit by the grinches on your Lexmark printer review. Funny how one strategic Helpful can wipe out up to 10 Very Helpfuls on that site. Fortunately it does not seem to hurt the referals much. Nice review on the remote and the printer. I'll read some more later. I may have to try to pick up one of those remotes.

DEVO check out the link for the details on how it works.

I've place a link on the main post that will explain how to use it. It's a review on did on it. Step-by-step.. But to be honest it is very easy to use and most of all program! Plus the added touch of a female inside the remote is an added bonus..

I think you'll enjoy using it as I do.. 5 remotes down to 1 - now!

Well folks this has to be the remote of choice. I'll post a better picture of what you see in of her in the darkest room. Bright glow and it's easy to see all the features of the remote. I've programmed all the wireless remotes and some odd remotes on found out some interesting features. But out of the box Pioneer Surround Sound Components Amp is the best feature of all. But if you have another brand it's in the manual or use unlimited buttons and macros to complete the learning experience.

Well enjoy...

Those getting FUNAI from BJ & SEARS might want to consider this remote also.. No BFD for this remote as it is already cheap, but easy to use and feel in you hand still the voice aid of a female makes it a joy to program.

Thumbs up 2 more picked up today!

Boy getting harder to find these remotes at Radio Shack. I did call around one store manager had to check the district to see how many were left? Around 100 of them. Store manager told me one store had 5 of them which was closer to my job. Sure enough he was right! I had picked up two more making it 7 of them I have. That should be it for me with these remotes every room is covered now!

One of the remotes batteries went dead this morning.. I had said oh no! I didn't want to re-program it. But when I had drop in another 4 AAA batteries into the remote it was back to business again. Good memory backup a feature it was over 8 hrs before I did use the remote to find out it was dead!

Hoping to pick one up in a couple hours. You said it will control my new Olevia and Comcast DVR right?
