Default Trouble teaching the Harmony to change input to HDMI2 on Samsung

HDMI input 1 is the Comcast box
HDMI input 2 is the Panansonic DVD/VHS
I'Ve gotten to the point that the Harmony will power on the TV and the Panasonic, as well as the Denon AV Receiver. However, I can't get the Harmony to change the TV input to HDMI2. The problem seems to be 2 fold. The TV won't accept any commands until fully turned on and changing the input is more than a single command. The command sequence is 1. Source button 2. Direction up or down button plus the number of steps to click until reaching the correct source and: 3. Select button. Any thoughts?
Also, as an aside, I made the discovery that the power off switch on the Samsung remote also turns off the DVD player. But it doesn't turn it on. I know the two aren't related, but just thought I'd sneak this in.

There are a lot of good threads on the Logitech support community. Just search for 'input methods' and you should get good results. You will probably want to adjust your delays on the remote when sending commands as well. There are several other threads on which input method to use, so check out those forums.

Many displays allow you to issue a direct input command with a Harmony remote even though the original remote does not have this function. I know my Panasonic plasma allows this by sending an input command and then hitting the number for the input you want.

Call Logitech level 2 support. They can do things remotely that the user interface doesn't allow.
