Default Poor picture quality on Mits WD-52725

I've done the BGLOD repair on this television including the switch for the FC connector. Using HDMI input with DirecTV. Any other input needed, I can provide.

Please see the attached photo...it was tough getting a decent picture, but you can see the lines in this photo. This was taken on an HD channel.

Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this? Sometimes it goes away after a little while, but then again sometimes it's always there. The lines across the screen make "wavy" motions. There are times when it's only horizontal lines and times when they are vertical lines.

Thoughts?

Look like some interference.
Do you see them en the menu, when it's displayed.
Do you see them on an other source.

Hi,I am going to tell you the same thing I posted on another question. It sounds like it could be the color wheel or Dmd board .This is how the DMD board works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm One way to check if it is in fact the DMD it's to display the menu and if its affected also for sure it is that.It could also be the color wheel and its symptoms are buzzing, whirling, high pitch vibrating sounds. The color wheel's function is this ,To add color to the image, the white light from the lamp passes through a transparent, spinning color wheel, and onto the DLP chip. The color wheel, synchronized with the chip, filters the light into red, green and blue,it coordinates with the dmd chips to create the colors one the image. This is one way to take it out and look at it: http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp96-01579a.php Good luck and God bless you!

It is on other sources. I have RGB/Colorstream connected and it's on that. It's also there when playing a DVD. The DVD player is connected through S-video and is not an HD DVD player.

The lines and waves are not visible over the menu when that is brought up.

It isn't the color wheel from what I can tell as there are no odd sounds at all and I've looked up the color wheel failure symptoms and there really aren't any that match.

I turned the TV on today and it was fine...and after about 35 minutes the poor quality started again. It doesn't get worse as the TV is on after a while, but it doesn't necessarily get better either. It seems to come and go at random.

The look of interference seemed like a possibility, but there really is nothing new as far as other electronics or frequencies around the television, from before when the picture was fine.

We are looking at getting a new TV soon...because we are all fed up with this one. Thought I'd start one more thread to see if it was something common or simple. Doesn't seem to be the case. I guess it could be any number of things from doing the BGLOD repair.

If you see it with the dvd input, it's probably not RF interference.
Maybe a power supply problem affecting the signal processing, if it's a switching type.

now it's gotten worse. I turned the TV on today for the first time and got a scrambled picture. The TV menu comes up just fine...but the direcTV menu and all channels (HD or not) come up looking like the attached picture. I've tried a system reset with no difference. There is another TV in the kitchen that is hooked up to DirecTV and that one is just fine, so it's the TV.

Thoughts on the issue? There is no "whirling" noise like a color wheel problem, or any other strange noises for that matter and the TV was perfectly fine last night.

Nevermind. Got it working again. I'm sure it'll come back though. I don't even know what I did to get it to work. I tried out the DVD player to see if that was the same (it was), switched it back to DirecTV and it worked fine. I had already tried unplugging and resetting and neither of those worked.

Apparently changing the input helped. Not sure what circuit board would need replacing to solve this, but you could try calling Mitsubishi.

Good luck!

Only one of the inputs. I tried changing the input from HDMI to Color Stream and it didn't work. It also didn't work the first time I switched it to DVD (but didn't turn on the DVD player).

I won't waste my time talking to Mitsu since the problem isn't happening right now. Just hoping the TV somewhat holds out until we can afford a new one.

From this last time? I said all I did was switch the input to DVD and play a DVD. The picture still looked like crap, so I switched it back to DirecTV and the picture was "clear" again. I had switched to different inputs before that and it didn't work.

Default Same story

So, I looked at the pics that show what the screen looks like and I am seeing the same issue!
I also just replaced all the bad capacitors to fix the BGLOD. I am able to get the TV to turn on, get the blue screen when no input is detected, and I can access all the menus of the TV just fine without any distortion. After trying a few different inputs and reseting the TV, my wavy lines are gone and the picture is completely black on all inputs. In fact, the screen stays black, and then 15 seconds later goes back to the blue screen. Almost like its lost the connection or something...I have a Mitsubishi WD 52-725..Any help on what to look at next or replace? I guess I should also mention that I am not getting any whirling noises like a color wheel problem either...
