Hello folks I need help. Last Jan I bought a Sony KDS-55A3000 TV. A few weeks ago I lost the picture.
When you turn the TV on the powe LED flashes for 10 times then it flashes red once and repeats the cycle. I've done some research and somebody recommended to change the lamp, so I just did. The lamp didn't resolve the problem. Any other ideas? Ballast? How to replace it? TV is only 15 months old. Thanks in advance dG |

If you purchased it used then the warranty might not cover this. I would contact Sony to see what they say. There have been plenty of optical block issues with Sony rear-projection LCD televisions. I have one myself that had optical block issues and Sony fixed it for free. |

i bought the TV last Jan and received it in Feb or something like that.. it was new. already called Sony several times and their only advice is to have it serviced... i called QServ the company the Sony Authorized repair dealer and they told me that they troubleshoot over the phone, order parts and then repair... called Sony last night to see if they could do the same thing and they were no help

Call Sony and tell them that Qserv dont want to repair it; and to recommend an other service company.

HI,did you get the original philips XL5200 lamp? Did you reset the timer?Any cliking or like something trying to power on sounds? If you do it for sure the ballast.Sometimes you dont hear anything so you will need to check it .To extract the ballast you will need to follow the cable where you connect the lamp to.Its usually below the lamp.Check the capacitors on it to see if they look swollen.Good luck with that God bless you!!
