Ok bear with me now on my explanation of this due to the fact I have never written on a forum before. I recently purchased a PS3 and have enjoyed it very much...except this issue I have when it comes to watching a Blu ray movie. I insert the movie and the volume goes wide open to the TV speakers which are not on when using the surround system or should not be. Because I am running a fiber optic out to my surround system for everything else the Samsung does not let me control the speaker volume because the tv speakers are cut off and only sends an optic out signal to the surrond system which shuts off the tv speakers. If I turn off the TV and then turn it back on, I resume full control through the surround system and the tv speakers are off like they should be. Thing is I don't want to turn off and then on the tv every time I want to watch a blue ray movie. It seems to be a handshake issue or something. It work perfect after the on/off cycle. Ohh and whenever I play a game I never have any issues at all, this is only when I put in a movie. I am running a HDMI. Please HELP.......

I also run PS3 Blu-Ray to my big screen. The control problems I incountered (volume, skipping scenes, etc.) were caused by the wireless controllers. Make sure your controllers are off, and your using the (un-supplied) dvd remote. This fixed my problem!
