While I was surfing around Ebay today I found a company that re-manufacture's light bulbs for most projectors, (I could have saved $156) so save your old burned out bulbs, and check this site out http://www.jopprugroup.com/plamp.htm

If I'm not mistaken all bulbs including the ones in new projectors are warranted for 90 days.

If it's done with a good quality lamp, i see no problems; as it's the only active part in the housing.
He may be good for those that dont want to do it themselves.

Would you buy retreaded tires for your car? What about a used car seat for your baby? How about thrift stores, second hand clothes? If all your answers are yes....fire away, save yourself the $156

I wouldn't buy a remanufactured lamp without a better understanding of what is being done. I am considering purchasing just a bare lamp and installing it in my housing next time I need a new lamp. My few lamp purchases have just been of the complete lamp with housing.

Reading this seller's eBay feedback makes me believe a primary part of their business is simply reselling the used lamps received for remanufacturing. My guess, inform the customer of the cost after receiving the lamp, then keep the lamp for resale after the customer declines the estimate. Maybe somebody else has a better understanding of what is going on here and if so I would like to understand it.
