ok, just got off the phone with the lady from 'jim's radio and tv service', anyway, they could pick the tv up tomorrow and bring it to there shop. then they would order the parts and fix it. basically it would have been another 2 weeks or so from the day they pick it up. so, i'll see what happens friday with the best buy repair guy.

next time something happens to this tv (if its any time soon, my wife will kill me) i'll call samsung and then jim's radio and tv. now that i know who there local repair center is. the first number samsung gave me was to a repair shop in FL. they faxed the repair info to them, and also gave me there #.

wish me luck dudes. i'm off work the week of christmas and i would be nice to be able to watch some 'good' tv.

You are within the 30 day return window. Give it back.
I second clearday's comment about taking it back, get a credit and tell them to get a new set to you

well, the repair guy came out this moning.

he repalced the light engine, which is the color wheel, fans, and even the bulb.

it worked, but the picture was to far up. it had a black bar across the bottom. he messed with it and now the thing just truns on, and turns itself back off. he said the DMD board is bad now.

i'm taking this @&^#! back!!!

my pregnant wife will give them hell if they dont make right on this!!

i found a local store, that is not best buy that has 2 of this tv in stock. if i can talk her into it, i'd be happy just returning this one and going there and buying a new one.

OK, now that you are taking it back I will say that there were many problems with the 46" dlps, so many in fact that they stopped making them. There seemed to be a problem with the small size of the tv and the angle of the dlp lens, or something to that effect. You show the model of your tv as HLS, this year's models are all HLTs, so that model is either a refurbished unit or a left over set from last year (the new models came out in March 07). If you possibly can fit it, get a 50" DLP, HLT model, or for ease of life going forward, an LCD. LCD's are much less problematic.

I hope you don't take this as as "I told you so", because it's not, I just think you will be happier with something other than this particular size of DLP and something that is a 2007 model.

i know, live and learn. it wasnt until after i got it home that i realized it was a leftover from last year.

i'm gonna measure and see how hard it would be to get the 50" to fit in there.

if i dont post, like ever again, please somebosy call the police, cause my wife has killed me.

Thanks for that. That actually made me laugh out loud. Sorry to hear about your troubles and good luck. You are living the nightmare I was afraid would happen to me when I finally convinced my wife we needed a new TV.

ok, all's well over here. no need for a search party.

we took the 46" back and got our money back. bought the 50" instead. its only the 720p model, but it still looks awesome. i had it sitting on a tv stand cause it was soo much bigger then the 46" that i had to make my entertainment center.

my dad came by today and its all done, just need to get it put back in the space. my wifes 8+1/4 months pregnant, so i got a buddy coming over to help shortly.
