I've bought lots of high-end camera gear at B&H as well as misc electronics. Great prices and did what they said they'd do every time.
I am not afiliated with B&H in any way except as a satisfied customer.

I agree about B&H but would check for better prices at onecall.com or vanns.com among others. Have not found B&H that cheap on a/v electronics, but customer service is great.

I just purchased a Toshiba 52HM94 DLP online in August from Buydig with no problems. Ordered on a Sunday and the set arrived in six business days on the following Monday, NJ to AZ. They used Manna Distribution Services for shipping, which provided step by step tracking to my door just like UPS or FedEx. The set arrived on the day scheduled in factory fresh condition. I opened up the box, plugged it in and everything worked great. I have to admit I was apprehensive at first, but Buydig had thousands of reviews, mostly positive from PriceGrabber, Bizrate, etc. so I took the chance. The price savings over local B&M's was significant (Over $700, plus free shipping, no sales tax!). I've been a Satisfied B&H customer for photo purchases in the past with no problems, but their prices on the Toshiba were higher than Buydig. I've also seen good user reviews for Onecall.

Default Ecollect Direct

Just purchased Samsung 6168 dlp 1080p through ECOLLECTDIRECT on E-BAY. Pricing was $1500+ less than Best Buys Magnolia stores and was shipped to my door in less than one week.Telephone conversations with saleman and billing department were both efficient and professional! Stand also arrived in same shipping order and was fairly priced also.

I ordered an Optoma 65" DLP from Visual Apex on a monday a few weeks ago online for $2150 shipped. I received on the following monday so 7 total days from WA state to Atlanta is very good IMO. Seems like they shipped it the same day that I ordered it.

VA ships thru DHL/Danzas. The tracking # that VA gave me was not right but the helpful people at DHL/Danzas was able to figure out the tracking # for me. I called the local DHL/Danzas office to setup delivery (not whiteglove) The lady at the local DHL/Danzas here in Atlanta was short and not very pleasent at all. Being it was not white glove delivery they only sent one person to deliver the 200lbs+ DLP. I was at work when it was delivered, the wife said she would tip him if he could bring the TV around to the backside of the house (no steps and he had it on a pallet jack) then slide it into the living room. He refused and left it the garage. I guess he did not want to make $30 for 5-10 mins of his time.

So a couple of guys that I worked with helped me get it into the house without any problems.

Very happy with VA and the people at the national DHL/Danzas level, but the local CSR for DHL/Danzas could use a "kick in the ashe" Did not matter to me about the truck driver.

Like I said the DLP was on a pallet, boxed and the box wrapped in clear plastic. The box was 100% without a mark.

Tiger Direct was a lityle scary but they had TV I wanted at a great price Samsung HLP 5663 for $2399.00 plus free shipping. This was back in February at that time CC had it for $2999.00. TV was delivered on time by a freight company who unload it and wait untill I hook it up to verify it was functioning.

Do not (repeat: do not) be leery of B&H Photo. This company is, arguably, the best-run photo/audio/etc. shop in the country. I'm not saying they have the best prices, though they are always competitive to one degree or another, but their service is second to none and they afford 100% support for everything they sell.

They're an especially good source for old film gear. The way they rate this stuff is incredible. A few years ago I bought a Zuiko tele from them that they'd rated very low, yet it arrived without a flaw in the glass, though it did have some scratches on the exterior of the lens. But operationally it was in perfect condition. Just for example, if they'd rate a used lens in B condition, that would usually conform to a AA rating over at, say, Adorama. Just for instance.

The point is within my experience B&H is a completely secure place to shop, and goes a step further than that even.

But that should be easy to ascertain independently. Do a Google on the company and look for customer reviews of the company. Without a doubt you should have thousands of glowing testimonials to peruse.

Default buydig.com

Just recently purchased a JVC HD-52G886 from buydig.com. A wonderful experience. They had the best price I could find, and did not charge any sales tax or shipping. It was delivered to my door in about a week from the date I placed the order. I definately recommend them and would buy from them again.

Default Authorized Electronics TV Purchase

I ordered two Sony KDF-E55A20 TV's from Authorized Electronics and was very happy with their service and price. I ordered the first TV without paying the $65 for expedited shipping and it took 14 days to receive it. After my buddy talked me out of the first TV for his business, I ordered the second TV with him paying the $65 for expedited shipping. It took about 10 days to get the second TV. Both TV's were shipped by Seka trucking. Pricegrabber has Authorized Electronics listed with very good ratings. I was very happy with this online vender. WolfpackRon

I'm seriously thinking of buying a refurbed unit from Second Act. Any experience with this online company and/or refurbed RPTV's in general. They say these things are refurbed by the original manufacturer and come sealed just as if it were new. I just don't want to buy a TV that 'Earl' tried to fix with some parts from Radio Shack, if you know what I mean.

I breifly browsed through this thread and didn't see much beyond the comments on OneCall and the other more well known online shops.

There is probably a good reason for that.

I bought my JVC HD-52G886 from Best Buy Plasma in NYC. Th3e price was competitive; the ordering process was efficient; the delivery was flawless and prompt; the product arrived in perfect condition. I'd do it again but would try to find a provider with a 30-day return policy to invoke in the case where the product operated as the manufacturer intended but had a characteristic that was so annoying as to be intolerable (as in making a constant 24/7 humming noise while plugged in but turned off!). Even if you finally keep the machine, the seller will go to bat for you in conversations with the manfacturer!

I liked Best Buy Plasma so much that I'd not hesitate to use them again.

Default Crutchfield

I’ve bought from crutchfield many, many times and couldn’t be happier! Over a month ago, I bought a Sony kd-34xbr960 along with a matching stand, and some cables. The stand was a “nicked and scratched” product and was deeply discounted that still carries their no hassles return policy. The transaction couldn’t have went smoother and they have the BEST phone support of any online company I’ve every dealt with-regardless of type!
After about a week I decided 34” was just too small, so I ordered the new KDS-R50XBR1. They agreed to let me keep my current TV until the new one is shipped (even though it will be longer then the thirty day window). The delivery company will deliver the new one and pick up the old one. I did have to pay 100.00 for the return shipping, but that’s fair. (If is damaged it’s free).
The stand? I couldn’t find a nick on it!
Over all, if I’m going to be spending that kinda $$, I want to know that if there’s any, and I do mean any issues, the company is going to be there to make things right, period!!
