Default No need to worry about shipping.

There is no need to worry about shipping these days. Most companies, incuding myself use freight lines. However from time to time FedX and even UPS are used. They know whats in the box and trust me they do not what to be liable. If something looks damaged, dents in box or tears rufuse it. A client does not have to except it, once you sign it, it is yours though for a few days. Internal damage usually has a 48 hour report policy. In the event something like this does happen stay calm. Yes a client just spent alot of money but it is covered under insurance.

Here is the tricky part though. A person has to be dealing with a goog company to start with. My policies are like above and the items I ship are usally worth twice the price as a Rear Projection based TV. Have never had a problem yet, in fact it is pretty rare these days.(shiiping damage) However it does happen.

Just though the people here who were going to order on line would like to know. Oh one more word of causion make sure you are dealing with a autherized reseller. Make sure the product you are buying can be sold through the internet. There are items I can sell through the internet but guesss what if the maker of the item finds out there is no warranty!! That is why I run information site. I have no restrictions doing it this way.

Hope this was helpful to all who are about to buy through the internet!

So far so good. Ordered a Samsung 5085 from OneCall over the phone yesterday. Got it for 2470 and some change. Just received a email saying it has been picked up at origin. The salesperson on the phone order was very helpful and it was refreshing to get a human being on the other end right away.
Projected delivery is 24 May. Not sure if this is just the high estimate but still fine with me for the price and good service if it works out like everyone else that bought from OneCall. The price was one of the cheapest i found including those shady NY outfits(one hungup on me when i asked a couple of questions) and they have 18 month zero interest no payment instant financing with no early payoff penalty. Works out perfect for me because i can pay it off in a few months and not worry about penalties and in the mean time no interest. I think that is good through the 23rd. Unfortunately the tv appears to be back over 3K now as I caught the weekend special but if anyone is interested maybe you can call and beg and they might honor the price. I know they had about 20 items on that weekend special so maybe they will have another one.

Thumbs down Terrible Experience with Electrodiscounts

Where do I begin? I had read various reviews and it seemed that Electrodiscounts received generally high ratings. They also listed one of the lower prices for a Sony 42" HD TV and noted that it was in stock. So I placed my order. The first thing that raised a suspicion was that they debited my credit card account immediately. I believe this to be illegal as they are not supposed to do this until the product ships. The next day I received an e mail from a sales rep saying that they were "eager to ship" the TV, but needed me to call them immediately to confirm my shipping information. This was a ruse and an attempt to talk me into purchasing a service agreement and other accessories. I told them all I wanted was for them to give me an airbill number. He said that usually happens within 48 hours. Twelve days and many, many phone calls and e mails later, I ended up cancelling the order. I am amazed this company stays in business operating the way they do. They engage in deceptive business practices and will continually lie about when they will ship. I have no doubt that any good reviews that appear here were generated by an insider. In summary, beware of doing business with Electrodiscounts. Pay more and go elsewhere.

Another vote for Onecall. Ordered late on a Saturday over the net, had it that Thursday. Excellent price, excellent shipping time and excellent customer service. Spoke to a rep personally and had all questions answered and fears put to rest. Paid $2293 all inclusive for Toshiba 52HM94. Was able to intercept at local freight carrier to pick it up at my convenience and missed no time from work. A++++++++

Default FotoConnection.com Terrible Purchase Experience

I ordered a Samsung HL-R5067W HDTV television from FotoConnection.com on 5/12/2005 and this Internet reseller is absolutely terrible. I thought I had ordered camera memory from them with good results. I was mistaken. Their reseller rating lifetime rating was listed as 2.12 out of 10. A more recent rating was 1.87. I was told the TV was in stock and I could have the TV in two weeks. My credit card was charged. I was then told the TV was shipped on 5/18/2005. I was then told it was shipped on 5/27/2005. I was told the trucking company broke the screen. I was told the sub $2000 price was for the HL-P5067W not the HL-R5067W, even though my paper work and the on-line ad stated HL-R5067W. I did finally receive a credit back to my credit card on 6/10/2005. Now they are saying that they are having trouble getting this product in stock. I guess I know why their reseller rating is so low. Duh on my part. WolfpackRon.

Default Abes of Maine - Decent Experience

Purchased a Samsung HLR-5067W DLP TV from Abes of Maine. Price was $1,999 plus $199 shipping. Took about 2 weeks to arrive. If you order from them expect a phone call where they try to sell you cables, extended service contract, and other options.

Television arrived in excellent condition.

Default PCConnection

I just purchased a Panasonic TH42PX50U from them and paid $2,700 (including shipping). When I ordered they said they had a 2 week backorder which was fine with me because I was in the middle of construction on my house and I would not need be able to use the tv right away anyhow. About 5 days later I received a confirmation that the tv was in transit. I met the trucking company out the day of delivery and unfortunately they sent TH42PD50U. I declined the shipment and called PCConnection. The CSR apologized and said there must have been an error in the warehouse. She said it was still going to be another week before the tv shipped because they were still on backorder. To my surprise they somehow ended up shipping a tv that day from another location. I am scheduled to have that tv delivered today.

My experience so far with PCConnection has been a good one. Now I am just hoping the box comes today undamaged. I will update once the tv arrives.

Default got my sony kdf55655 from electronics expo.

what a great deal i got. and i got 18 months interest free on top of it. 1957.00 for the tv. i went to the warehouse and picked it up so i saved another 200.00 plus but had to pay nj sales tax but that was not too bad. 117.00 . no hard sell on anything. great place even helped me load it. I would recommend them to anyone. and they will price match any sets from an authorized dealer too. I would have taken the 60 inch but alas it would not fix in the mountaineer. but i think the 55 will be just fine and i saved another 300.00.

Default Digital 1234 = No Reply

So, I'm ready to order, I've checked out the ratings and Digital1234.com has the best price and good ratings. One negative is no phone # and all communications are by e-mail. This is mentioned by quite a few people who have left comments at the review sites, even though they are rated well. So, I send an e-mail with a question about shipping. No reply.

I send another. Nothing. I send several more to different depts. explaining I'm ready to buy but want to hear from them first, about different delivery options and to make sure they exist and actually answer e-mail.

Nothing.

Four weeks, 5 e-mails stating I'm ready to buy and no response. How bad would they be AFTER they had my $?

Not a good recomendation, huh?

Default Toshiba 46HM84

Well, im in need of a new TV, so ive taken a chance and ordered a refurb Toshiba 46HM84 from savinglots.com using ebay. Paid $1449 inc shipping and an extra $150 for the 4 year Repairmaster warranty. Ordered it yesterday using paypal, for some reason paypal is sending all payments as "unverified addresses" and savinglots sent me my order confirm saying there would be a 10 day hold for non confirmed addresses.

Late today they email me for a phone number for the delivery company and i reply back, they then call me to explain theres a problem with paypal and verification (all their orders with paypal payment were coming unverified) and they wanted to just confirm it wasnt a fraudelent order and my TV will be shipping tonight! Really friendly on the phone, no trying to sell other products or anything.

Great service so far, i'll add some comments when it arrives or if things change in the meantime. They gave me an ETA of end of next week/beginning of the week after for delivery.

I've used onecall on more than one occassion. Good folks to deal with.
Not always the best prices, it pays to compare. But they will negotiate from what I understand. They've been running a retail showroom for decades, that apparently has a great rep.

Default Digital1234.com update

All of a sudden they are answering e-mails. I tried one more and got an answer back on shipping in 3 hours. I've sent in a couple more questions, mostly to test them out. I get answers within hours of the e-mail I send. Don't know what happened to those first couple e-mails but they are responding now.
