We got our 52 inch Sony HDTV from Inoax.com, they are located in New York, we're in AZ. We figured it was going to take forever to get here. We ordered, there were problems with the creidt card, apparently when we got our tax refund check and went hog wild buying everything we could get our mitts on they allowed it but when a purchase for a $1700 TV went thru Bank of America stopped the card, go figure. Once that was done it took a day to process the order, and it shipped the following day. Side note here, the initial issue happened over the weekend so it took a little longer to get everything done with the time difference and what not. We got a call like two days later from a company in Vegas wanting to know when we were picking it up?! WHAT THE HELL?! A few minutes on hold and it was all cleared up, apparently the person calling was new and got us confused with someone else, no biggie. They were to be at my house the next day between 1 and 5. The delivery guy was there at 1:05, he helped me push it into the living room, and that was it, I took it from there. If you look in EBIZ or EBIZRATE what ever that site is Inoax.com has some horrible feedback but I had no problems. The sales guy did try to sell me cables and stuff like that when I called to confirm but I expected it, others make a huge deal about it. All in all it was a very smooth transaction. A++

Well got my KDF55WF655 delivered today from onecall.com. The fedex guy even brought it in, unpacked it, and we set on it's stand. He didn't want anything put I did give him a tip. Turned the set on and it's awesome. So far have played dvd's and regular directv service. I'm getting a new dish installed by dtv on sat to get the hd stuff. But the picture so far is awesome. I'm so happy that I went with sony. Can't wait to see the HD picture. Onecall did an awesome job. Box was in perfect condition when it arrived. Not one ding. This is the best purchase I've made so far. I saved almost $900 by not buying from CC or BB. I would highly recommend them if anyone needs to pick up a hdtv.

Default Samsung 5674 from Digital1234.com

About three weeks ago ordered a Samsung 5674 from Digital1234.com. I've been tracking prices with PriceGrabber and D1234 was consistently either the low, or one of the lowest prices. I had ordered some cables from them earlier and was pleased with the transaction. Also had same day response to email questions regarding shipping of a DLP. Ratings at PriceGrabber are also strong. Placed the order on a Thursday, and received the set the next Tuesday in Texas. The box was perfect, not a ding on it. The set has worked flawlessly since set up, absolutely awesome. Highly recommend Digital1234 for price, customer service (emails), and quality delivery. Could not be happier. Saved over $700 from best brick and mortar pricing I could find.

Default Hi Tripper! How's your 5674?

Hi,
I've seen this set twice, none of my local stores carry it. It looked great to me but the price was holding me back. Then, I found the bizrate.com and pricegrabber ratings so I think it's affordable now.
What did you end up paying? Warranty?
What made you decide on this set?
What stand did you buy?
What are you using for Hi-Def, satellite or cable?
Stay in touch, I'm set up for private messages. I'll probably buy in a couple months, we've got to replace carpet and paint the great room first. No sense having a new set sitting there while this is going on. Let me know if living with it is as good as you thought it would be.

I ordered a 61" JVC HDILA from PCUNIVERSE. They had the set before anyone else, had the best prices, delivered fast (faster than they promised), and were there for me when I had an issue. I'd buy there again.

Default Vann's---Top Notch Dealer

Bought my KDF55XS955 from VANN'S in Montana. They are a Sony authorized dealer. They offered the unit with free shipping (obviously folded into the price) and with a Sony DVD recorder as a package deal.

The items arrived within 4 days, the TV was operable but had been subjected to a "shock" by the shipping company and actually had a crack in the plastic near the left speaker mount.

I shipped the TV back, they shipped another concurrently, the replacement TV arrived in perfect order.

Vann's is very easy to work with on the phone, Jennifer went above and beyond the call to make the situation right, and I will be doing business with them in the future and recommend Vann's to others.

Well, I finally broke down and bought one also (60xs800). I was all set to buy online, and then thought about the local AV guy who installs equipment around the neighborhood. He was able to match the online price, plus 4 guys carried it upstairs and hooked it up. Sure, I ended up rewiring the room and spending more money, but what the heck. Here's a pic:

Smile buying online

I have gotten alot of things (some major, some minor) online and overall I've had pretty good experences.
Crutchfield used to be my major squeeze but after 9-11 they changed their policy and would'nt accept Canadian credit cards shipping to U.S. addresses or UPS drops anymore, I called and tried to get them to rethink this policy and they did but the whole process for ordering was now very different and I only had one frist born to give them. They were great to deal with though.
Made one major purchase (over 4 grand, can.) with Sounddistributors.com, had the goods stolen while they were in the trucking Co's. possession, in Spokane, Wa. and Eric, the contact guy/owner of souddistributors, helped get that one fixed and new goods on the way in about a week.
Made another fairly major purchase from soundpros.com(2 grand, can.) unit died after about 8 months, they told me to send it to them, they called about 5 days later and told me they would send me a brand new one which they did, only cost for this was time, no money.
Like I said, all my major purchases have be pretty good experences, I've had some small problems with online stuff but overall I feel good about them. As with any purchase, online or not, I think you have to communicate with the company, get a feel for them and when you feel satisfied with that, you go for it.
I'am sure that most of us have had some bad ones in our own town.

Default online success story

I had great luck with TVAuthority. They used Sekoworldwide.com to fly my Epson LS47P2 LCD rear projection TV to my community, then a local delivery guy brought it over in the evening the day before the scheduled delivery. I had expected them to truck it up I-15, so it was a nice soft touch. My box looked just as good as jojojojo's.
