I purchased my Sammy HL-P4663 from bestbuy.com.
It was delviered in 3 days, on a Sunday. They have a calander function that shows you available delivery dates, which include weekends. I even gave the guys $20 to move my old set into the garage. Smooth transaction. Great picture.

Onecall. I've bought several things from them in the past, and cannot recommend them highly enough. Pricing is "right there," if not the cheapest, but being an authorized dealer is a benefit. Had an HLP5085W delivered at no shipping cost, on time, with stand, in perfect condition. Great customer service, too. Downside is a somewhat limited selection. Try them out.

On Saturday, January 15th I ordered a Samsung HL-P5663W from TV Authority. The shipping was to be five to seven business days.
On January 25th, I started trying to find out where my TV was. I sent an E-mail to my salesperson who didn't reply. Then I called TV Authority and was told the TV would arrive on Thursday the 27th. While this was EIGHT business days after ordering, I thought that if it showed up, all would be forgiven. On the 26th, I received an E-mail from my salesperson who said that it took 24 hours to process my order AFTER the weekend, so the seven days didn't start until Tuesday the 18th. The 26th would have been seven business days after that date, she said. I didn't reply, but was thinking O.K., then where's my TV? It's now Friday the 28th and no TV. When I checked the shipping company's tracking site, it said the TV hadn't been picked up until the 26th -- 11 DAYS after my order was placed! Plus, there was no information as to where the Samsung currently was. An added problem is that we're moving this weekend to a new home. When I ordered the TV, I thought that 14 days would be more than enough to get it here, even with 5- to7-day shipping. Others have had problems with TV Authority's shipping. I'm kicking myself that for a couple of hundred dollars I didn't go with Crutchfield's. |

As mentioned elsewhere, I ordered my Sony KDF-55XS955 from OneCall on Saturday January 22nd. The set was in Denver on Wednesday the 26th and Delivery came at 1:30pm on Friday the 28th. I was able to track the set which was sent via FedEx Freight through Boise, Salt Lake City, and Grand Junction on the way to Denver. When it arrived it came in the same condition that the box posted above came in. I'll try to post pictures later. In addition, the FedEx Freight employee and I moved the set off the truck onto the curb and DOWNSTAIRS INTO MY HOUSE for no extra charge. I was ready to offer the guy an extra $40 for this, but the grease wasn't necessary when he offered to help me move it in.
Once unpacked, the unit was in pristine condition and has worked flawlessly. The picture is better than experienced in the various showrooms and hooking up the OTA antenna was no big deal (Only almost fell off the roof once!) OneCall.com rocks! and is HIGHLY Recommended. They were easy to do business with, knew their own processes on the sales side, and delivered as promised. One key to this was actually placing the order on the phone, I originally had called to determine the cost of white glove delivery, but was told that calling them was better as they would be calling me anyway to confirm the order. No high pressure sales tactics, friendly sales and support personnel, and a competitive price made this an enjoyable and stress free purchasing experience. If you mention my name, or any other customer for that matter, they will get 1% of your purchase price for the referral, so mention David in Denver sent you. I need more content now! I do not work for OneCall.com, Huppins or any other related party to my transaction. I only had a great experience and wish to share that with all of you. As should be noted, your experience may vary significantly, but I doubt it. |

I bought my Toshiba 34HF84 from Crutchfield because they have a very good return policy. When it arrived, it wouldn't turn on. With one phone call they said "we'll ship you out another one right away and pick up the first one when they deliver the new one". They must have put a rush on it, because it arrived within 5 days. I didn't pay any extra shipping.
I would definitely buy from Crutchfield again. |

I just got a 55xs955 Sony from Sear. Never thought I would have gotten one from them but I got a local store in NH (tax free shopping) to match onecall's shipped price plus an extra 10% of the differnce in price. Since I was planning on buying next month with a bonus I used my Sears credit card to get 10% cash back (ended on Saturday), I'll just pay it off when the bill comes. Deals can be found, just be ready and know what you want.

Congratulations n3xt !!!
Onecall is so fast,I couldent have gotten any faster if I would have driven to pick it up myself. Sears would come close for me $$,but would be feb. 6th until I would recieve it. Anyone get the extended warranty? ![]() Its my understanding Onecall gives 30 days to decide. Last edited by jojojojo57; 02-01-2005 at 12:14 AM. |

I posted earlier in this thread that I was having trouble getting my Samsung from TVA.
The TV arrived yesterday, late (the shippers fault), but with the box in good shape. TV Authority called me three times yesterday to check if the TV had arrived yet. I will buy from TV Authority again. |

I was all set to order, was either going to be Abe's or OneCall. I'm on the East coast so I was leaning towards Abe's. I ended up buying from Sears, last Saturday was the last day of a 10% cash back if you use your Sears card. All the local box stores were having really good sales going at the time and I found Circuit City would sell me the Sony 55xs955 for $3100. Sears was $3699. They didn't seam too happy about both price matching plus 10% of the difference and the 10% cash back but agreed. I was able to buy the set I wanted and pick it up that day for a little cheaper than OneCall's selling with shipping price. With the cash back I'm at mail order prices from a brick and morter store. Deals can be had, just keep your eyes open.
BTW I love this set. What everyone says about the blacks is false. I just watched The Cat in The Hat and the cat couldn't get any ,ore black. I would recomend this set to anyone unless they plan on watching from extreme viewing angles. |
