Not trying to pimp anyone out or give useless , Just purchased a Mitisubishi 60' DLP via Shop NBC. I went through the marriott. dot com website so I could grab some bonus pts through Marriott... there are a few other travel partners with Shop NBC, hotel/airline.

Grabbed the tv with free shipping and an additional $200 off. $1050 total all in... great service, good price. Totally recommend them.

Default hi-def tv purchase online

I purchased my tv on-line 3 and a half years ago through vanns electronics. the delivery and all went as promised. The tv has been a bust though no fault of vanns. I didn't care for the warranty co. that they are afiliated with since getting warranty repair work was sometimes a hassle. shipping however was free and there are no sales taxes at all. I will purchase through them again but will avoid the warranty co.

I'm considering making a purchase online from Pauls TV of a Mitts WD-60738 and I see they offer an extended 4 year DLP warranty for ~$400. First off how would you guys rate them in terms of overall satisfaction, and second would the warranty really be necessary? I only ask the latter as its a significant chunk of what the display would cost and I've head Mitsubishi tends to be fairly good about repair and replacement even out of manufacturer warranty, on the other hand it'd also be much cheaper then repair or even outright replacing the set if the unfortunate does occur.

*edit*
Also, any thoughts on how the Pauls TV warranty compares to the SquareTrade one available from Amazon in terms of coverage?

Default East Coast TV - As good as a Full Dumpster

Great Customer Service - if we lived in a post apocalyptic world. Ordered TV - No such luck. Called 5-6 Times only to talk to some moron that would give me a line.. "Customer Service is not in call in a few hours"... Finally I get a hold of Steve ext 104 on the 5th call who actually help track down where my TV was with the help of Tony (master of the universe).. I was told that the "Delivery" company damaged my TV but the Delivery Compnay wasn't forth coming with that info. I figured by Day 11 no tracking number from the Shipper ment BAD NEWS. Thank God Steve had the witts to offer me a higer priced in stock model or wait for the replacement back order tv to ship, thats service.. I told him to cancel the order the TV was a Christmas Gift.. Was it worth trying to save $180 - NOPE!!! Then the credit back to my card, well I was informed that was done 2 days ago.. He says with an attitude." It's done the day it's credited" silence for 10 seconds goes by.. "Check your CC account" (Like I didn't do that before calling) It wasn't and hasn't.. So my CC company will take care of it via the dispute process.. This company is so poorly ran I advise you to look else where.. - Of course you can make a purchase and rate it with your "Awesome" experience.. They must hire Santa's retarded elves to cover the Holiday Season... - Pressing #4 for Customer service is like asking you dead grandmother what are you making for dessert.. and Customer Support via Email - God Bless you cause they don't check that either. - I went with Amazon, 59" Sammy 8000 series Plasma Via Paul's with Free Shipping, Free white glove service with a 3 year Square Trade Warranty. As of 12/22/2011 they have a B+ from the BBB This is one company that needs to retire and go back to hauling NJ garbage.

For the people upset with BestBuy.com.

I saw a BluRay player online, a new Panasonic for $144. I called my store to make sure it was in stock and I could pick it up after ordering online. The guy at he store said they would match the online price, so I drove over and got the $179 new model BluRay for $144.

What is so tough about that?

Not all BestBuys follow the same rules. The local store does not honor any online or internet prices ? Yet another area BestBuy does ? I have no problem buying online after I research the sellers feedback, I usually enjoy free shipping and no taxes on those purchases also.
