I found what I thought was a great price online (Circuit City) and called my local trusted high end dealer and asked if he could meet the CC price because I preferred to deal with him. He met the price and delivered and set up for $40. I thought a real bargain because the set-up included DISH TV setup which was too complicated for me. I'll go local whenever I can.

I recently bought a Mitsubishi WD73833 73-inch 1080p DLP Rear Projection online from Walts TV saved over $600 and free shipping. I could not find one in the entire state of Florida for sale without waiting 3 weeks to have it shipped to the store and 2 weeks for delivery from Best Buy. Walts had it at my house in 5 days and it was Labor Day weekend. Bought my Monster HDMI cables from them and saved $40 per cable.

BestBuy.com has some really nightmarish stories behind them... I avoid them at all costs.

Thumbs up

Bought a JVC HD-56FH97 from buydig for $1999 shipped. I was able to track the shipment via Manna Distribution website. Local shipping company contacted me for delivery.

Set was delivered six days after ordering, arrived in perfect condition. The driver was more than happy to help me unpack the box so I could inspect the set and sign off on the delivery checksheet. He even helped me carry the set upstairs to my media room for a modest tip.

All in all a very good experience buying from buydig. Definitely would buy from them again.

Stay FAR away from Gear4less, an Ebay retailer. Several friends have were lured in by low prices and subsequently victimized by non-invoiced extra (doubled) shipping charges, long wait for delivery/no delivery, and nonexistent customer service.

I avoid them entirely after 2 negative experience for online order & 'customer pick-up'.

Although I had zero problems with 3 purchases made over the last several years from Magnolia A/V, which is located inside some larger BB stores. They also still have a few stand-alone stores.
A night and day difference in the sales staff and the overall experience.
Sorry, did not mean to drift off-topic as Magnolia is in-store only.

For online electronics, Vanns, Crutchfield, OneCall and Newegg.com would be the first places I would trust. There are several others. And lots of questionable ones. www.resellerratings.com seems to be a good guide.

Default this place has great prices and...

I needed a bulb recently. Bought a Samsung from http://www.rearprojectionlamps.com. Fast delivery and was like $40 cheaper than some of the other websites I visited (same product too). Think they are pretty darn good.

Got JVC HD-56FH97 from Buydig. The TV and the TV stand for $1350 with FREE SHIPPING FROM MANNA... Had the set for a couple weeks now and everything is great so far! I'm guessing Buydig sold out cuz this set, as well as the 61" JVC are not listed on the site anymore. Buydig was great, will certainly buy from again!

I bought the Sony 50" A3000 online from Onecall yesterday, got it for $1199+Matching TV stand+Free Shipping, and the transaction was smooth as silk, and shipped out today! I had to call to speak to a salesperson regarding delivery, and he was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I've never been so happy with a large online purchase before....here's hoping my A3000 fulfills its part of the bargain LOL!
