Default Online from a brick and mortar

I purchased a 46e3000 Sony online through Circuit City last week. Did this rather than going down to the store and getting it because I got an extra 10% off using an e-coupon.
They also gave me free delivery and set up for going through the website.
Ordered on Thursday night and was watching it on Saturday night.

And I have the added advantage of being able to take it back to the store if there are any problems.
My fear has been that ordering from somewhere 2000 miles away I may get it and then something goes wrong and it is a big hassle to get it returned and replaced.
My 2 cents.

Default Another OneCall recommendation

I purchased a Samsung HL-S6187 from OneCall and have been quite pleased with the entire process. I found OneCall's website as a direct link from the Samsung website. I ordered it on a Thursday night and it arrived Tuesday the following week . The entire process was quite professional including the customer service call backs, several emails regarding shipping and tracking info, as well as documents for the service contract. On top of that, they offered 18 months/no interest financing.
The best part about the entire process is the price matching guarantee. I checked the website again a few days after ownership and noticed that the price of my recent purchase dropped by another $200 while at the same time, a $75 coupon was being offered for the item as well. I called OneCalls customer service requesting a price match for $275 and was taken care of without a hitch. In fact, when i mentioned that i had purchased the matching TV stand and 5 year warranty- the agent on the line said that the $75 coupon offered for the TV- was actually increased to $200 if the entire stand/warranty package was purchased (this was NOT listed on the website). So basically- i was price matched an amazing $400 ($200 price+$200 coupon) that was credited to my account 2 days later.

Kudos to FexEx freight as well. Having taken a day off (a Tuesday) to receive the TV on the tracking info's estimated delivery date- i was in a bind when i called FedEx that day to schedule a curbside delivery time and was told that it at the facility but wasn't due to be delivered till the next day (Wednesday). I explained to them my predicament about taking the day off and was told that they will try to work something out. Within minutes i got a call back saying that it will be delivered by 10:30 that same morning.

All in all, the final purchase price of the TV, matching stand, and warranty actually cost LESS than the price of the TV ALONE if i purchased it locally through Circuit City or Best Buys. Buying locally would have added an addition sales tax to the tune of roughly $250! The entire process could not have been better.

BestBuy.com NOOOOOOO!

I was willing to pick up my own TV, but didn't want to drive all over town... So I used BestBuy.com to Order with IN-Store Pickup... NOW - the Site states NO FUNDS are drawn from your CC until you pick up the Merchandise AND the Item is at xx location...

1st E-Mail- we're sorry but the item you ordered isn't available at the chosen location (AFTER stating on the site it was) Please call other stores in your area to locate the Item!!!!!

1st Call - "Um I don't think so... I'm looking at my Bank acct and you already hit me for 4K+ find me the TV or refund the $$" "Sir we only put a Hold on the funds" Remember this statement

They located the TV at a store another 40 Miles away...

OK I drove up there... LO and Behold - the Sony XBR was the same price as the Sammy - so "Cancel my Order and give me that one" Order Cancelled and told funds released

Young Kid went in back and retrieved a 60" Sony SXRD

Went to pay - NSF - Bank wouldn't BUDGE... bestBuy.com wouldn't Budge... I had to put it on 2 different Cards

1st Business Day after I see the original $$ Clear my Bank Acct - the funds that were held had been collected by BestBuy.com!!!!!!!!!!! AND the 2nd grouping went through as well... Over 8K for a TV that cost 3500???? (bought some other toys as well)

Called BB.com... they started the Refund process (48 Hours)

Discovered the young kid pulled the A2000 NOT the XBR TV!!!!!!!!! NOOOOO now I had over 8K out and not even the TV I asked for in the 1st place...

BB delivered the replacement and collected the original BUT before the $$ issue was resolved...

Long story Short - I will NEVER use bb.com to buy ANYTHING EVER

I AM happy with the TV Though... amazing PQ

Smile Onecall.com is excellent

I purchased a Sony KDS55A2000 from Onecall.com. They were pleasant to deal with, got my set delivered in a week, and reduced my initial purchase price due to their 7-day price guarantee. I will make them my first choice for online retailers in the future.

Another vote for Crutchfield! Bought a KDSR60XBR2 from them last week. Delivered yesterday. Today, I see they lowered the price $500.00! One email later, and they credited the difference. Cool!

Default one call purchase

Hey lenbo, i purchased a TV from onecall too. How was ur experience with curbside delivery from fed ex freight? did they have shock watches on them? any damage done to the box?
im getting my TV delievered tommorrow and want to know how easy the situation was for you. i know that if you dont indicate that there is "possible concealed damage" on the bill of laden and you accepted a inferior product, then onecall will not be able to help you with an exchange.
any additional info would be appreciated.

Default Circuit City - trying to stick it to me!

Hi -
I bought a Sony 50" LCD TV from CC online, on 11/14/06. As part of the deal, I was supposed to receive a $200 E-gift card by email. By 11/20, I had received nothing, so I started calling customer service. They said that I would receive another one in 5 business days. I waited until today (12/01) and called again.

This time the person who I spoke with (Quinitta), told me that I had apparently failed to click the "add gift card" button at the time of ordering, and now there is nothing they can do - in other words, I don't get a $200 E-gift card which was part of the deal, just because I didn't click the button!

When I asked to speak with someone above her regarding this matter, she informed me that she was the highest level person in customer service, and this was the end of the story, as far as she was concerned. She even warned me that in the future when I ordered online from CC, that I should be very careful to click all the right buttons!

I then got the phone number of CC's headquarters, called, and was directed by the operator to a person who, perhaps could help with this problem. She was out, and I got her voice mail, and left a detailed message. So far, no returned phone call.

Can anyone here lend me any advise, short of returning the TV for a refund? Since the sale, I have received both emails and a phone call from CC asking how I felt about my "buying experience". Needless to say, I gave them an earful. But, I still don't have my E-gift card. I can't believe CC wants to lose loyal customers through some technicality (like failing to click a button).

End of rant!

Ordered from onecall and it was a great experience. Fast delivery too, even considering it one day late because it got stuck in Oregon because of a snow storm. Definitely buy from them again.

Default On-line purchase

Have bought three items from two different sellers. First was the satellite speaker system and receiver for home theater, that was bought from Crutchfield with no problems what so ever. In fact the receiver was on sale and a problem arose w/a coupon that wouldn't load-up during the on-line purchase. Called the next day and they doubled the coupon value. That was all Crutchfield...not me! The second purchase was my Monster PowerCenter. That was purchased through Buy.com. Nothing went wrong with this sale but read alot of negative comments after purchase was submitted. But, like I said my experience was not reflective of those expressed complaints.
One company I have seen numerous complaints about is,
The New Connection.com (sp?). Horrible company and appears to be listed under three or four other companies. Stay way clear of this company!!

The only good thing I have found good about CC is ordering online for pick up in their store. They always have the merchandise ready, and get you through quickly. Same experience with Sears and CompUSA.

But I totally avoid online transactions with Best Buy. On two occasions I could have walked up to the merchandise, picked it up, paid for it, and drove off in my car in the time it would take BB to even validate the internet order when I showed up. THEN they send someone back to the stock room to get it. In fact, I never even patronize BB anymore. One time, the 50 CD-Rs for $6 and no rebates was too hard to pass up. Great experiences with Magnolia A/V though.

Thumbs up Purchased a Sony 60" SXRD XBR2 (KDS-R60XBR2) through One Call

Great experience. The first thing I did was get a list of Sony Authorized Online Dealers from www.sonystyle.com. I took this list and narrowed it down to three:

1. B&H Photo and Video (best price shipped)
2. Crutchfield (I had a previous good experience with them)
3. One Call (better price than Crutchfield and highly touted on various forums)

I liked the price at B&H but wasn't sure about the customer service I would receive if something went wrong. I liked the customer service at Crutchfield, but the price was high and I would have to pay tax since I live in VA. I ended up going with One Call when I found out that they had a $200 online coupon that put the price within $99 of B&H shipped.

Purchasing with One Call was perfect. I ordered the set online on Wednesday (December 20th) and then spoke with a customer service agent who explained that I would receive an email at which point I could make an appointment with the freight company (ABF). She didn't try to hard sell accesories or warranties like other online dealers that I have dealt with. I received the email on Thursday (December 21st) and called ABF who said they could deliver it on December 26th which really surprised me.

December 26th came, a big truck pulled up to the house, a guy unloaded the TV and helped me carry it in, and we took it out of the box prior to me signing the bill of laden so I could inspect it.

All in all I had a wonderful experience with One Call and ABF Freight.
