Are there still any major companies making RPTV? I havent seen any in the stores for a while now.

Mitsubishi makes 73, 82 and 93" models. A 73" model is on sale for $799 this season. Nice picture, nice set and you won't find a 70" flat panel for less then $1799

HH.Gregg has been carrying the Mitsu rear projection sets, but Mitsubishi recently announced that all rear projection sets have been discontinued

Somewhere in the calibration thread I posted numbers from a large mits that proved they could produce fine images, large ones too, at a great price.
Even then though, the writing was on the wall that rptv's of whatever ilk, were on the way out. As the price of today tech panels (LCD and Plasma) continues to drop and the promise of new tech on the horizon, the era of the "TV that ate the Living Room" is over. Doug k
