I went to Paul's TV and checked the showroom unit- same issue. 20 minutes ago finally had the two technicians come out from VideoTechnics, the SoCal company Mitsubishi has a contract with. Both technicians saw the issue as soon as I turned the set on and showed the PLUGE test pattern. They adjusted the set in service mode...no change. I played a letterbox BluRay movie & they saw the bleed immediately. They stated that this is a SERIOUS PROBLEM with the set and they expect Mitsubishi will get many complaints about this issue, which older models do not have. When I told them I've seen this now on 3 sets they said this is a MANUFACTURING DEFECT ISSUE. Their guesses- bad lens, bad mirror, maybe exaggerated by the new screen. They said they would call Mitsubishi field service but to expect that I will have to return the set for a refund. Arrrgh!

This unit was replacing my beloved 60" Grand Wega (man tears). For full screen images, once you balance it the PQ on this set is better than any big set in the stores right now except for the 65" Panny plasma...at 1/3 the cost. If we didn't watch so many widescreen films I'd give the set 4 out of 5 stars.

I just purchased a wd73842 from walts tv it arrived 10/19/2012 the box was in perfect condition. After unpacking and hooked up and turned on I was blown away by the picture but I noticed a caved in look to the picture I called mits read the thread about the image problem on this website they sent someone out and he said looks like the screen wasn't flush with the frame I explained there was a 15 pound difference between this and last years model and it was the frame we both agreed this cld be the problem Mits says they wld replace the screen I've argued thru bbb that this is a new tv and they sold replace the tv. I don t want a refurbished tv The guy who came agrees with me and says no garranty this wld solve the problem now mits is saying they wld replace screen and offer 6 months extended warranty I already purchased a 5yr extended warranty mits says get shipping company or walts tv to replace tv. I'm so angry and wld love feedback. Had a wd52725 and many problems for 3yrs worried mits until they replaced it with a wd60737 now this UGH!

I live on Long Island, very hard hit, fortunately I live in a higher region( between south shore and north shore on the eastern end of LI) and did not suffer any major loss a few trees down but others are devastated. Thank for asking.

Got my tv replaced the geometry issue is solved. The picture is amazing. Had family over and a nephew who is in the movie business somewhat it's always a pissing contest with him the whole night he constantly made baseless comments about the picture I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to this stuff and I can tell you the picture on this thing is amazing! The 3d is unreal he has a lg passive 3d which looks good but the 3d is not as sharp the regular hd picture is clear but the soap opera effect is bothersome to me. Love the tv!

Fonzlinney - did you work with Mits to get the TV replaced or did Walts do it? I just took delivery today the same make / model and noticed the same issue you were having. Any guidance appreciated.

Mits replaced mine talked to the people at walts (Ed) he said that there was a little bleed over in these models (rpject) I checked my other dlp(60737) and there is a little but never noticed until I got the bigger tv but still the picture is amazing and I guess I can live with the slight bleed over if you find a way to get rid of it let me know
