Question Sony 42 and 50 A10 owners w/Comcast HD dual DVR

I am once again thinking about getting a HDTV, and am trying to decide on the 42 or 50 size. I would be sitting about 7 feet in front of the 42, and 10-12 feet in front of the 50. I have read that the 42 provides better PQ because it covers up flaws that the 50 won't.

I will still be using my 32 crt for some SDTV, and only use the HDTV for when I am actually watching TV. I watch a lot of sports and take advantage of Comcast On Demand programs, and use my DVR to record a lot too. What can you tell me about the PQ on the A10 sets for analog and digital channels that aren't in HD? I get both the MLB & NBA League passes with my Comcast box, and I believe most of those games are not in HD. I also will be watching the Philadelphia Flyers on Comcast SportsNet HD channel. Some people have said that hockey doesn't look as good on RP HDTV because of the ice being so white, you can see black (dust)spots all over the screen, and there could be some blurring during fast action sports like hockey. Is this true? I thought HD was really supposed to improve watching the game of hockey on TV.

Any opinions on PQ with your A10 would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey,
I have the 42A10 and sit about 7'-9' from the set and it looks great the SD picture is MUCH better than most HD sets IMO. The digital SD pictures are even better. I have a SA8300HD box Passport sortware TWC - I have chosen to output only 720p and 1080i from the box and that made a difference as well. As far a spots I've watched a couple of Hockey games on IDnet "few minutes" and I didn't see any dust or spots, looked great but was bright white... hope this helps you out
Mark ...
