Default Sony SXRD KDS-60A2020 Picture problems

I have a Sony SXRD KDS-60A2020. I replaced the bulb about a year ago. Before and after bulb replacement, the picture was great. About a month ago, I started getting a "grainy, pixel" look on facial features and large solid colors such as a football field. I have tried making adjustments under the picture mode of the TV menu but have not had any luck. I hate to call a repair service if it is something I can fix myself. Any recommendations or help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't heard that symptom before. Try taking a picture of the problem and posting it here or post it to a photo posting site and post the link here.

Are you aware of the Sony buyout offers on these tvs?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't heard of the Sony buy back program. Where can I get details?

I also have a Sony SXRD KDS-60A2020 which had been a great HDTV until the light on the front of the tv started blinking and the buld died. Replaced the bulb with an OEM and the picture looked fantastic until about a month ago when everything on the screen has a green tint to it. Could this be the optical block problem? And if so is it worth fixing.

Try contacting Sony at sonylistens@am.sony.com

and tell them about your situation.

Default Sony w/ Green Tint

Green tint is absolutely the optical block going bad. Actually, its my understanding from Sony that there are a series of prisms in the block which are glued together with a special glue. The glue did not hold up under heat quite up to expectation.

Don't expect Sony to replace the block. More than likely, they'll offer some sort of accommodation on a current product.

If you don't want to talk to "Sony International Customer Service" in the Philippines which is default on their "800 #," Sony still has a great customer support group in FL although they do not publicize it to the general public. That number is: (239) 245-6475.

Hope it works out.
