I bought this tv from Costco on 2/20/2008 and almost exactly two years later i had the bulb replaced. The tv worked great after that until late summer this year when i noticed a white spot on the lower right side of the screen. Soon there were two dots and now i seriously can't count how many there are. When i view a bright background on the tv i can still see the white spots but can see even more dark spots. My wife thought we had bugs inside the screen. So we took the screen off cleaned the inside of the screen, cleaned the mirror, cleaned the bulb.... we cleaned EVERYTHING, and the spots are still there.

I called Costco's Conceirge Services a few days later and was told the tv was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do to help me. Thus far i haven't had a chance to call Mitsubishi directly.

So i thought i would come here and ask if any of you have had the same problem or might know why this is happening to my tv and what the fix is.

Thanks.
It is easy to repair, buy a DMD chip online, replace it by yourself ( there many videos online how to do it), and also you can see more about it on our web:www.tulsatvrepair.biz

Today's June 16, 2016 and it's been about a year and a half since the last post in this thread. Don't hesitate to call Mitsubishi at that same 800-332-2119 number. I called today and mentioned about the white dots on my model WD-65737 and she explained to me that they'll be able to ship the DMD chip to an authorized TV repair company free of charge (value around $225), and but I would only pay $200 + tax for the TV repair labor costs, and if applicable, gas and mileage if the repair company is located far away from my location. The representative was very nice and helpful. Luckily she found an authorized TV repair company in my area.

A repair technician came out today, same day I called Mitsubishi, to repair my TV since they already had the DMD chip in stock. Repair was quick, and all the hundreds of white dots are gone. He did recommend that I replace the lamp soon as the picture is starting to get dark. That I will do on my own, and get the lamp from eBay, even though the technician said that the generic lamps (although about 1/3 cheaper than authentic Mitsubishi lamps) don't last as long. He said that even "today", they still service a lot of customers who still own DLP TVs and he changes about 15 lamps along with a few DMD chips a week on DLP TVs. All I ended up paying technician was $200, no tax or mileage charges.

Don't bother buying a DMD chip on your own (they're around $180 on ebay), watch DIY youtube videos and trying to repair it yourself, unless you know what you're doing as you might damage the TV even more. Don't procrastinate and call Mitsubishi and get a professional install it for $200. Glad I did, as I was about to spend $1100-2000 on a new 60-70" TV.

Glad I seen this message board on the internet after a google search and got this Mitsubishi phone number! Thanks High Def Forum!
