Default Sony Bravia lcd display screen "stretched" look

My bulb is about to go out on my tv but would this also cause the screen to look stretched?? I have a new bulb already but I am not going to replace it till it actually goes out.

You should buy a bulb now ( and get an OEM bulb, not an non Sony bulb, there is a difference) and have it on hand for the change over, and, NO the bulb life has nothing to do with screen image size.
