Mitsubishi WD-52725 Contrast Issues, front panel dead

Hi all.

I'm having a strange issue that I have not found anything about elsewhere. Long story short, I must turn the contrast all the way down in order to get a close to normal picture, albeit very washed out. Once I start to turn up the contrast, the picture starts to "Solarize" or flare to the point that it is not watchable. Graphics are the first to go.

The second issue is that the front panel buttons are not functioning. The lights and reset on the front panel work fine but the buttons don't work. This may be a very old issue as the remote works fine and I never used the front panel buttons until now...

Any ideas???
