Default Warranty for my Sony was not so painful..

http://electrified.com/Catalog/Items/?ItemID=11974&Supplier=REPAIRTECH&ItemModel=5%20YE AR%20TV-MONITOR-PROJECTOR%20EXTENDED%20WARRANTY%20($2500-3499)

I have no connection to this company, or RepairTech. After getting sticker shock over warranty prices I found this doing a on-line search. I bought a 5 year in-home warranty for $349 from RepairTech from Electrified.com. So my set is covered for two years for free using AmEx. AmEx doubles the 1 year warranty for free from Sony on my 60" KDF60WF655 to two full years. Then at the end of the 2 year factory warranty period my 5 year RepairTech warranty starts. I like the free replacement in my warranty if my set dies. Being protected for 7 years is not too shabby. When I was at CC and BB they charged big bucks for a warranty that ran at the same time as the factory warranty. What good is that I asked the salesman? He went on about how they will send their own guy to my home to fix it. I said the factory plan does that also.. I did not end up buying my set there. I spend almost $1,300 less than they wanted for the same set. Good luck everyone. John C.

Default Buying an Extended Warranty is Different From Getting Protection

My brother in law had a job at a 3rd party extended warranty firm.

His job was to deny people coverage for legitimate claims.

Since the warranty was sold by the dealer, who wasn't responsible for the coverage, it was a great scam all around.

Unless you were a customer/victim.
