I have the above TV. Replaced the bulb probably about 8 months ago. Current problem - TV was on, all of a sudden, picture went blank. Red light on power button started blinking, Lamp light started blinking 1x every 5 seconds. Manual just says to contact a service rep. No warning about hours of use came on. I could buy another lamp, but not sure that is what the problem is and would rather not buy one unless I am sure. Anyone have any clues as to what the problem might be?

Sounds like a lamp issue or the door that closes around it. I would check the door first and make sure it is fastened securely. Also make sure when replacing that bulb that you get the exact OEM replacement bulb and not one made by an off brand company as they have much shorter lifespans, different color temperatures (which effects colors) and just don't work as well.
Hope this helps.

It's not a door issue. I took out the bulb, replaced it and tried to turn it on with the door off and it gave a different blinking code. Replaced the door and it did what I outlined in the first post.
Would the bulb go out without the timer warning? It was replaced with an aftermarket bulb, so it could be out in a shorter time span. You think it is worth giving it a try? |

If it were my TV, I would try a new OEM bulb. YMMV...

Just FYI. Replaced the bulb and it is working again. Really does get a good picture. Especially for a rear projection.
