Sony Rear Projection - BIG PICTURE?

My son-in-law has an older 58" Sony Rear Projection TV that is fed by a Directv hr-20-100. The picture is great EXCEPT that it seems to be a little to the left as some of the material on the left hand side of the screen is cut off... I have checked all settings and nothing is in the zoom mode.. Is there anyway to shift the picture or does anyone have an idea what might be causing this. Some Directv receivers have the capability to move the picture but not the HR20-100.

I had something similar and it was a bad HDMI cable.
