Panasonic PT-56LCZ70 56" LIFI Projection LCD HDTV Problems

The tv takes forever to turn on and then screen is very dark ,sometimes times it just cuts off once on correctly it is fine. Does the bulb need replacing or any other thoughts on what is going on with this tv?

It very well could be a bulb issue. The bulb for that TV is warrantied for 5 years so I would recommend calling Panasonic.

Yes, call Panasonic. Most likely they will send someone out to check the TV for you right away. Let us know the outcome.

Spoke to panasonic today and it is the ballast has anyone replaced one them self, or know where to purchase one? Talked to a repair man he will charge 180 for the ballast and 290 for labor well i just can't pay that much to repair the tv i will just buy a new if i can not fix it myself.

Don't buy this TV. Biggest piece of crap ever. We have had this 56" TV for almost three years now and every year we have to replace the lamp in it. Thank god its under warranty but really? Every year! We are waiting for the repair guy to come out. It will be at least a week before he can come. Don't get me wrong, we don't have to have our tv but this is ridiculious. What happens when our warranty is up? We will be stuck paying the bill (over $200 for a stupid lamp). Don't buy this tv!

Well, seeing as this TV has not been manufactured since 2007, I don't think there is much chance of anyone purchasing one now. Of course, you can get a lemon with anything you might buy, whether it be Chevrolet or Mercedes Benz. And, by the way, at least 2 of us on this site have the same model and have never had a bit of trouble out of it. My grandkids play their video games on mine on a daily basis, so it has MANY hours on it. Oh... and though it is an RPTV, it's not an LCD. Different technology altogether.
