Question 52" Samsung DLP still has dark picture

I have a 4 yr. old DLP. The picture had become noticeably darker, so I just replaced the bulb (bp96-00224c). When I turned on the TV, the picture looks just as dark with the new bulb. Dark scenes are hard to see. Is there anything besides the bulb that causes the darkness...is there another fix?

Check the picture settings to make sure someone didn't change them by mistake.

Maybe it has the Mits dirty lens assembly issue.

The installation of bulb might not be correct. For reference you can check out this video Projectors installation tutorial.

I can't imaging a incorrect lamp replacement. It's either working or it's not. There shouldn't be much, if any latitude where that lamp assembly sits.

A cleanup seem to be the first thing to try.
