Default Need help with new Samsung LN40B630...

So I just bought my very first LCD TV and I'm kind of lost. Right now I have it hooked up to my Xbox 360 with component cables (HDMI are on the way), but the picture isn't great with DVDs. There's still quite a bit of pixelation and the blacks aren't very deep (they look grey). In fact, none of the colors look good, it all looks faded. Also, it looks like everything is moving faster than it should, like it is in 1.5x speed. What should I do? I've tried to calibrate it myself, but it didn't help much. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Well, first off, you posted in the wrong forum. This is the REAR PROJECTION forum. You need the FLAT PANEL forum. However, there are a things we need to know before we can give you an answer:
What is your signal source ? Cable, satellite, OTA ?
Do you actually have HD ? Have you subscribed ? Do you have HD set top boxes ? Have you scanned for OTA HD channels ?
Have you calibrated your TV with a calibration disc ?
What are your settings ?
Are you certain that you are using component cables ? ( red, blue, green ) Are you certain that they are plugged into the correct jacks on your TV and your signal source ? ( Don't laugh - most people get this one wrong, especially the blue and green cables. )
And remember - the instruction manual is your friend. Seriously, you would be amazed at the number of people who NEVER even pick up their manual and then wonder why things aren't working properly.

Whoops didn't even realize I posted in the wrong forum; can somebody move this? I don't have high-def channels, but I'm going off of DVDs in my Xbox, not the cable. Yea, I've made sure that the component cables are in the holes. I haven't used a calibrating disc, which one would you recommend? I've only browsed through the instruction manual. Any other help would be great.

Fully READ the instruction manual first.
