American High Def Showcase to Produce First Ever High Def Market, Completely Dedicated to High Definition Independent Features Films
Redondo Beach, CA - August 16, 2004 - Susan Soares and Amy Godsey, Co-Founders of American High Def Showcase, are producing the first ever High Def Market, completely dedicated to high definition independent features. The American High Def Showcase may be the new kid in town for now, but they'll be the market to watch in the next few years. With all of the buyers and dealmakers in town during market week, American High Def Showcase decided to schedule their show during the same time and in very close proximity. The objective of the American High Def Showcase is to drive HD forward to its rightful place at the top of the food chain. "I feel that independent film and HD are so closely intertwined that they will launch each other" says Susan Soares. "All you can say about HD at this point is "it will be". American High Def Showcase will specifically focus on HD independent feature films, and answer questions like "How do they get made? What are the real issues? Where is the technology today? What's on the horizon for tomorrow? I'm in the can, what now? What are the new revenue streams that HD offers? What does it look like?" AHDS will be screening only the very best HD features that are out there made by independent filmmakers. The American High Def Showcase will run concurrently with the American Film Market© and will cater to and advertise to the same audience. This is a marketplace where over $500 million in production and distribution deals are closed annually. Each year, more than 10,000 people convene in Santa Monica for eight days of screenings, deal making and hospitality. Leaders in motion picture production and distribution, directors, agents, writers, lawyers, bankers and trade groups come from over 70 countries to attend these events. AMERICAN HIGH DEF SHOWCASE - SHOW SCHEDULE - Thursday, November 4, 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Launch Party Friday, November 5, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Screenings and Panel Discussions Monday, November 8, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Screenings and Panel Discussions Tuesday, November 9, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Screenings and Panel Discussions During our Launch Event, enjoy tray served appetizers and cocktails while viewing a loop of 10-20 HD trailers of the films that will be screened during the week, as well as fantastic visual entertainment on center stage throughout the night. Outside on the pier, we will have 10 x 10 sponsor tents in a horseshoe formation around the center staging area. Friday, Monday, and Tuesday we will be screening HD features during the day from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The High Def Market will be advertising in special editions of all major publications. The event is being advertised monthly in our E-Newsletter publication, which goes out to our list of 16,000 Indy filmmakers. We'll register everyone and give the contact information to all the vendors. (My last event had 1500+ filmmakers show up for a 5 hour show) Booth space is $2500 per 10 x 10 tent. Screening fee is $1000. To purchase booth space, or if you have a completed feature shot in High Def that you would like to submit for screening, please contact American High Def Showcase at 310-540-6639.
