epson ex71 problems

Thanks in advance... I have a Epson ex71, it is about 2 years old, the lamp in it was replaced in the spring, has less then 400 hrs on it. The filter is clean and the fan is working however after about a minute of running it cuts out, the fan ramps up to high and the power light and bulb light flash red. I contacted Epson and they said its is a bulb issue, I contacted the bulb supplier and they said even if the bulb turns on for a short period it is not likely a bulb issue.

I did a search and found the same symtoms on other projectors but no solutions. Any input or help would be great!
