LED projectors

Hi Guys,

I am looking for good projector for Blue Ray movies and HDTV.
LED or laser projectors should be nice, anyone knows this one?

My own feeling on LED projectors is that, right now, they are an unproven technology. While new high power LEDs promise to replace conventional light sources (Xenon arc lamps), getting the high lumen outputs advertised (in projectors) is really working them hard in terms of high current and heat issues. While they (LEDs) promise improved performance for projectors, I would be really cautious at the current stage of development.

I would want to read up on several LED projector reviews relative to your suggested unit before buying, and also, you should consider the price your looking at is comparable to non-LED projectors with a proven track record.

As far as using a projector for home theater is concerned, I'm sold. I purchased a Panny AE2000 some years back and have been really happy with the sharpness, color intensity, and brightness it provides. It's really a home theater addition that brings the experience home.

What seems attractive to me in LED or LASER projectors is the high
expected lifetime and the much lesser heat development.
Heat means cooling; noise as well as sucking dust out of the environment and blowing it through the projector.
In the mean time I found out that In the Netherlands some LED models are available too. I try to see it for myself one of these days.

There is no dearth of projectors but I like LG HS201G. It is a portable LED 1080p HD projector which boasts of 30,000 hours lamp life.

When it come to projectors, do not ignore DLP technology.

I saw a prototype for a laser based projector a few years ago that was quite impressive. The company went out of business because they could not compete with current technology. Last I knew, there was one "laser" TV available to the retail customer.

The CRE is a very basic unit that seems to have decent reviews. I would still wait for this tech to mature a bit first.

Hi to all, I am new here as you can see my post count. Happens to see this thread & gets interested. I owned CRE X205 led projector which is same manufacturer of CRE X1000. X205 has svga only while x1000 is an 1080p i think?
I really love my cre x205 since I have a dedicated room & controlled environment, & this is my first projector. Having said that, I am planning to upgrade into Optoma ml 500 or the viewsonic Pled w500 720p led projector. This Led projectors earned positive reviews by the end users from AVS forum. I never own a bulb pj, and no planning to buy one, coz of the bulb changing issue.

And when i say LED mod i don't mean just ring of light on controller im talking about chrome A,B,X,Y,RT,LT,RB,LB, X guide button all led or something close to that.

Im in need of a new controller, being as hardcore as i am, my controllers go through a lot of wear and tear and ive just gone through 2. Ive been called MLG material and won many tournaments (local not MLG) so i need a cool LED modded one and if its LED and rapid fire modded that would be cool to.
