I am a vinyl audio file and in audio cables make a big difference. Does it in video and if so what should I buy. I want to order now but have no idea what I need for my new AE 700 Panie.

Assuming your source audio equipment (DVD player/HD receiver/A/V receiver) support Dolby Digital 5.1 or greater and DTS or greater you can use either coax or optical.

It makes a big difference. If you use RGB (component) to the projector, get the best quality you can. The RGB signals are analog and the picture will degrade with low quality cables, especially on long runs. HDMI cable quality may not make as much of a difference since it is digital. I had to use RGB since my receiver can only switch RGB signals. The cable comes in a bundle about an inch thick. It looks great on my Pannie 700.

You can use properly terminated RG-6 coax cables for the component. DVI and HDMI cables would be prefered if your equipment supports it. The key is to get high quality 75 ohm coax cables. Audio cables are 50 ohm coax cables.
The RCA connectors are 50 ohm, but they don't degrade like the cable can, as they are fraction of inchs in length, whereas the cables will be many feet. Some projectors have BNC connectors, which are better to use without adapters if coax is run. BNC connectors are 75 ohm. |
