yes.

There's no dumber financial decision you can make. If you want to blow $20 grand, buy some really killer gold teeth. At least those won't lost half their value when you leave the store.

The only problem is that the really killer gold teeth make you look like a FREAK !

I've sometimes bought used cars. The last couple I've bought have been new. It's kinda nice having a car with only a few miles on it, no dents, dings, or scratches, and a factory warranty. I didn't know that made me a SUCKER !!

Glennb1 your 2005 Honda Civic has some other issues you're not sharing? But like you I rather buy new as I use to buy used (new word pre-owned) in the past. But if I ever buy new again it will be with Cash and not trying to pay off any loans to deal with the F-Financial Manager at the Honda Dealer Again. I am glad the wife is going to the Friendly Honda Dealer just to get an check-up during the first 10,000 miles they even clean the CR-V and shine the wheel good detail service. Rotated the wheels. I know I wasn't going to touch that, in the past I always worked my cars.. Still do but not 100%.

Sorry, but there are times when buying new makes sense - my case would be one of them.

I drive 30k miles a year and can't be dealing with issues with a used vehicle since I rely on it for work. Plus it saves me $3k a year in gas compared to my last vehicle.

Even in other situations, so long as you are going to keep the car for a long time, the loss of value doesn't matter. If your goal is to drive it for 2 years and sell it, then yeah its a stupid move.

I mentioned the check enigne light issue about a month ago in the car forum. I said the cataylatic converter was replaced for free under the emissions warranty as a result of the check engine code telling them the cataylatic converter wasn't doing it's job anymore. That's it for repairs. It has 75,000 miles on it. Was that the issue you thought I wasn't sharing ?

Do they only shine one wheel ? That's what you sentence says. That doesn't sound like good detail service to me.

Do you always need to respond like an ass?

If you disagree, lets hear your reasons.. You agreed above that its stupid to buy a new car. I stated a very good reason why that is not the case and cited my example.

Enlighten me on why my situation doesn't warrant a new car? Or any situation where someone keeps the car for a significant amount of time?

I used to be able to just ignore skoot; figured he had a bug up his ass or something.

I have come to believe however that he has the entire hive up his ass; thorns under his skooter saddle;
and is perhaps in the early stages of senility.

I do still try to ignore him, but it gets more and more difficult.

I think you are right on the hive, but a bit off on how its involved

I think he sees a group of people and throws the hive into the center to see what happens and just stands back and watches without having much more interaction other then hooting and hollering..

He made a few posts stating his opinion, I countered them and he has had no intelligent response or interest in discussing..

Don't have to deal with any issues if you know how to shop for a car and how to turn a ratchet.

I can get something like that free via my chase card. You can also dispute purchases on credit card. IMHO all of this insurance stuff can be such a waste of money...
