I wasn't saying they should have a place INSIDE the building, just a designated area outside. Many buildings do this, but not all do.

I have no problem with SOME reasonable limits on it at this point, but now YOU are saying not even outside in public, so that leaves NO WHERE left but the moon right?

Again, I'm not saying nowhere in public, just designated areas in public. I don't see any reason why smokers can't simply wait a little bit and smoke in an appropriate location.

I think there are plenty of work places where the smokers do get more breaks. I think more companies are putting rules in place to prevent that though - I know at one place they have set a policy in place that basically goes with MA law.. 1 hour lunch and 2 15 minute breaks. Thats it... and it doesn't mean someone can take 3 5 minute breaks.. Simple and consistent among all the employees.

Thank you for being so cliche and using the "life ain't fair" statement.

I realize life isn't fair, but when I choose to be healthy (by not smoking) I shouldn't get penalized by not being able to take as many breaks as somebody that does smoke. I shouldn't have to risk my health just to get the same amount of breaks. Of course I could be the jerk that complains to management and if they aren't smokers I might have a case.

Yes and they just instituted a $1 per pack tax increase here in Florida.

Now a carton of Marlboro is $38. But not as bad an New York where a carton is $75!

Not much weight gain. As far as the crave goes, it's mostly 1st thing in the morning and right after dinner. My dad hasn't smoked in 15 yrs and he said he is afraid if he smoked just one he would be hooked again.

Sin tax is a euphemism for a sumptuary tax: a tax specifically levied on certain generally socially-proscribed goods - usually alcohol and tobacco.

I disagree with this.

Excise taxes have been and are widely used by governments to discourage consumption of specific commodities; taxes on alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are the obvious examples.

Governments are now dependent on this income, failure to use the offending products is contrary to the governments mission statement. This was the whole point of the stop doinf it for a month thing I came up with.
