That is what some "experts" say, but it is not true with a lot of people. I not it is not true with me.

I'm not responding to the tax comments you made simply because I agree - there's nothing to really discuss there.

I think there are plenty of work places where the smokers do get more breaks. I think more companies are putting rules in place to prevent that though - I know at one place they have set a policy in place that basically goes with MA law.. 1 hour lunch and 2 15 minute breaks. Thats it... and it doesn't mean someone can take 3 5 minute breaks.. Simple and consistent among all the employees.

I realize life isn't fair, but when I choose to be healthy (by not smoking) I shouldn't get penalized by not being able to take as many breaks as somebody that does smoke. I shouldn't have to risk my health just to get the same amount of breaks. Of course I could be the jerk that complains to management and if they aren't smokers I might have a case. -Shark2k |

Do you smoke cigarettes ?
Yes and they just instituted a $1 per pack tax increase here in Florida. Now a carton of Marlboro is $38. But not as bad an New York where a carton is $75! ![]() That is New York State BTW |

Not much weight gain. As far as the crave goes, it's mostly 1st thing in the morning and right after dinner. My dad hasn't smoked in 15 yrs and he said he is afraid if he smoked just one he would be hooked again.

I just wish we could get everyone in the US to stop smoking/drinking and playing lotto for 1 month. Damn idiots would be passing laws forcing people to smoke, drink and play lotto again, FOR THE CHILDREN.

I doubt anything is rationalized more than cigarette smoking.
The list of negatives are as long as your arm. On the positive side (not of smoking..nothing positive there except more tax revenue) there is a steady decline: http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_stat...s/cig_smoking/
