Here in the great Pacific Northwest, where we don't salt our roads, It's sometimes hard to wave Old Glory every day. The weather can be a bit rough and we do not want to disrespect her. That said, she flies tomorrow.
Personally, I do not give a damn if there is a Monsoon, hurricane force winds or a friggin' blizzard tomorrow. If you drive by my house on January 20th, you will see my flag waving. Count on it. God Bless America!

Well after the honeymoon (inauguration) is over, lets hope ppl have rational expectations. Gold coins won't rain from the sky, the rivers will not flow with milk and honey, etc. Thus I don't see things changing for some time. In a way this kind of reminds me days before the war in iraq started, ppl thought it would be an easy victory, stimulate the economy, bring jobs, lower gas prices, etc. The economy will undoubtedly get worse before it gets better. Unlike recessions in the past, we live more in a global economy than ever before. No one, company, or country, can stay on top forever. The faster we realize this, the better off we will be...

Yes, but only if that was the case. This is just the honeymoon; reality will set in soon. Dems/repubs will fight like they always have. Even obama hinted he may veto the dems over the bail out before he even got into the office...

The Parties are supposed to fight. That's what our Government does. With passion and determination. That's how it was set up. The part where we have lost our way is when the debate ends. The end result should be, must be, what is best for the country as a whole. Partisan politics should end once a compromise has been reached. The Country cannot survive the way we have been doing this lately.
Forgive my tempered optimism, but I think even politicians realize that things must change. I do not have a lot of faith in the longevity of a politician that does not begin to offer solutions forward. The Country is changing.
