Now I was looking up some codes since I program a lot. I had found this site which can tell you more than you want to know about your connection.
IP Host Name IP Address Location Region Latitude: Longitude: Even pin point you right on Google Map which is also shown. Now if you're a on a proxy you don't have this problem but then on a proxy it would tend to slow you down a bit. Anyway check out the link.. http://browserspy.dk/ip.php BrowserSpy.dk shows you just how much information can be retrieved from your browser just by visiting a page. Available tests are listed below. * Accepted Filetypes * ActiveX * Adobe Reader * Ajax Support * Bandwidth * Browser * Capabilities * Colors * Components * Connections * Cookies * CPU * CSS * CSS Exploit * Cursors * Date and Time * DirectX * Document * .NET Framework * Email Verification * Flash * Fonts via Flash * Fonts via Java * Gears * Gecko * Geolocation * Google Chrome * GZip Support * HTTP Headers * HTTP * Images * IP Address * Java * JavaScript * Languages * Mathematical * MathML Support * MIME Types * Mobile * Network * Objects * Object Browser * Online / Offline * OpenDNS * OpenOffice.org * Opera Browser * Operating System * Google PageRank * HTTP Password * Ping * Plugins * Plugs * Prefetch * Proxy * Personal Security Manager * QuickTime Player * RealPlayer * Resolution * Screen * Security * Shockwave * Silverlight * Sound Card * SVG * Text Formatting * File Upload * UserAgent * VBScript * WAP Device * WebKit * Web Server * Window * Windows Media Player IP address Information Find out what your IP address and hostname are and if are you using a proxy to connect to the internet? And where in the world are you located? It even shows your real local IP. The IP address is a unique number that identifies your PC on the internet. The IP address is assigned to you by your internet service provider. Test Result IP Address Hostname Country Region City: Postal Code: Latitude: Longitude: Long IP number Proxy Local IP address (localhost) Show location on map Using Google Map, Yahoo Map |

Pretty good protection there. You two what are you both using for firewall, all-in-one extra protection that would cover everything that the software firewall can't do?

Im sure professional hackers and law enforcement could get around that. But I still say the internet world is safer than the real world, just read the newspaper. Now that is scary

Well I could use a sandbox instead run any browser in virtual environment that cuts down on bad cookies, and the other pest that seem to jump onto your system through the browser cache. Another was is to use IP scrambler another word for proxy. Almost like that movie Sneakers.

None of the information listed can really be used. If you are browsing with a patched system, Anti-virus protection..etc and don't provide information to unknown sites and when you do provide information ensure its on an ssl connection, you are pretty secure.

It said I lived in a west suburb of Chicago but I really live on the North Side of the city. Close but no cigar.
