Nice bump to a cool thread.

Mine is a function of necessity. I prefer Mobius, but it was taken. A mobius is a geometric shape sometimes called a mobius strip. it's a loop that has a twist in it so that if you travel along one side you will eventually end up on the opposite side, but will never stop traveling. Also, if you cut a mobius strip down the centerline, it will not split into 2 rings. It will create a new loop twice as large.

The hky is the adder and stands for hockey. There is no other sport in the world as far as I'm concerned. I play, I'm a ref, I watch. Hockey.

Never worked for a sattelite provider, but I used to install sattelite dishes on roofs for my friends. My other nicknames are Bulldog, and Tony Soprano.

It's part of a name I pulled from a random name generator I wrote for a MUD I played years ago. It's apparently the most popular reason people land on my old website according to the company that's squatting the domain name now!

My user name describes what I do. I've been a broadcast engineer since the 1970s... actually, the 60s, if you include freelance radio engineering while I was in school.

About the avatar: that's from a snapshot of one of my stations' transmitters, a 1962 vintage RCA TT-11H that was fully operational when we pulled the plug on analog this June. Not a single transistor in the thing -- all tubes.
