You can use them as coasters if you tape over the holes.

A lot of dedicated HD-DVD owners have moved over to BluRay (only so as to have the HD movies they want) but still have and USE their HD-DVD systems and take advantage of many disc being offered at low prices to increase their libraries, and thats understandable. But, even I can't look away from SUPER priced disc in the $3.00 bins or elsewhere to increase my own library, only to ask myself WTF did I buy this for. I have to many BR disc's that'll I'll never watch but, what a deal I got them for.....LOL.

Haha. They regularly show up here for a buck a piece at the supermarket now and I still buy them if the title interests me! Good news is that the Universal HD-DVD's that I got 50 for a dollar each has interested my wife a lot, so not a loss at all.

Bingo!! I still have 2 HD DVD-players I payed $99 each for. I have about 25-30 HD-DVD movies I play and still find great deals on others for like $5 a pop. And they both are great upconversion DVD players. I have a BD player for current HD rentals and purchases..At that time BluRay players were still $400+, so still happy now that I went HD DVD when I did and waited until BD players were $200 a couple years ago to pull the trigger. Win-Win.....

Oh wait.... I forgot, I am supposed to be trolling here.... I love me some Weekend at Bernie's 7 on HD-DVD I got for $1.99...

Me too. Got two HD-DVD Toshiba players for next to nothing on ebay and one is still in the box in case of backup. Got them used, but they came in original box with everything and looked like they never were used. Not even a scratch or blemish on them.

Damn right they don't! I am proud to say that there is still NO BDP in my house. Not even a PS3.

Kams is away and busy for the time being and I don't think Rail ever pops out of the gaming subforum. I don't really venture outside the gaming subforum either, but I was trolling around and hoping that a troll might actually post in this thread. I just love it when we self moderate many of the trolls.

When WB dropped HDDVD in early Jan 2008, I immediately put all my gear and movies on ebay, made a lot of my money back, and have never looked back.

A lot of people had problems selling HD's on E-Bay, unfortunately a lot of e-bay-ers don't grasp the HD-DVD vs Bluray and even when explained they buy them and want to return them cause they won't play on their BluRay players....Doh!

I got out in front of it. There was a Blu Insider at Blu-ray.com who hinted around the "big" announcement and it being a deathblow. As soon as I heard it, eBay!!!

What kills me, and I was always pulling for blu, was anyone stupid enough to think that a format supported by ONE CE manufacturer would win over one supported by most everyone else...

Oh wait, TWO, LG had that shitty multi format player!

I went to ProsAreUs.com and ordered one for next day delivery and when she arrived she didn't even look like the picture. I called customer service and they said she probably got damaged in shipping and I had to pay to have her shipped back....Sons of Bitches...I will never order from them again.....

P.S. I still have HD-DVD also and they haven't self destructed yet....

I on the other hand picked up a ton of discs due to fire sales. I have players stashed under the bed so I will be able to play my discs. Oh well the the discs still play and I still have 2 A3s in the box if my player craps out.

Haha, the discs will degenerate before your player stock runs out!
