Default Who plays the Lottery and Scratch Off cards?????????/

I'm just curious as to rather there mite be a better chance of winning if you were to buy the cards that cost more; like the $10 cards. I don't play them that often and I noticed this morning they have cards ranging from $1 on up to $10. I guess if there's any people on here who plays them they would be able to voice an opinion.

Thanx

P.S. Bought two $2 tickets this morning and won back $2 on one ticket.

Anyone who plays lotto enough to form valid opinions probably isn't capable of operating a computer.

The gambling odds in casinos are better than these state lotteries odds. Best to avoid them to win.

Playing $5 a week is sensible. It gives you an astronomical chance to hit it big. Sure the dumbass who plays $200 a week has a better chance, but it's still astronomical.

But I am about $2,600 ahead by not playing the $5.00 a week for the last 10 years since they have never won anything but a couple dollars which were just turned into more tickets.

The odds of winning are just too high it is a very bad investment.

Rbinck see this answer for what I meant.

Most people lose when they play the lottery and f you play enough, you WILL lose unless you win megabucks but the odds are so bad to win that you always lose in the end. Most lotteries only give back less than 50% of the revenue yet the casinos generally give back about 80-85%, yet still make big profits.

It gives you an idea of how much the states squander the revenue huh?

Sat down at a video game last weekend. The sign above,,,in flashing neon, said "98% Payback",,,,giggled and laughed at meself,,,and considered the huge probability that for every dollar me sunk into the machine,,,,me could pocket$.98 cents. So instead of being a guaranteed 2% loser,,,,just ordered free beer till they cut me off.

The proverbial optimist!
You saw that mug as half full, even if you kept if empty as often as possible.

Remember all lottery and gaming profits, and payouts only come from the pockets of losers.

Oh, well, anybody who plays is a loser until they win. There are worse ways to spend money, and of course better ways too.

For sure.

I was just playing with the words. I knew what you meant. But saying the way to win a lottery is not to play is a bit impossible. True at the end of the day you may (probably will) have more money if you avoid lotteries, but that is due to not losing as opposed to winning. Winning and not losing is not the same.

My wife and my best friend actually won the Texas lottery. The amount was in the 24 million range. I worked for her for several years until she remarried and moved out of state, so it is possible to win, just not a good retirement plan for sure.

In Texas the lottery was supposed to have funded education, at least that's what got it passed. Truth is the proceeds go into the general fund and education is still underfunded, at least that's what some say. The lottery does not even come close to providing enough money for the Texas schools, so all of that was just a political ploy. Now they are working on casino gambling, which ironically the lottery is not for.

In Nevada we have no lottery, the gaming industry is against it.

Yet again the Government used the "It's for the children" card to get something approved.
