There's been a lot of versions made of this story, it's a pretty long franchise. The few that I know of is the one that was on TV a few years back, that had Whoopi Goldberg in it, then the comedic one with Bill Murray called Scrooged, and then one of the early versions that had George C. Scott playing Scrooge, who if you Google image him, I think is what the perfect Scrooge looked like.

My memories are of the 1951 version called "Scrooge" with Alastair Sim as Ebenezer Scrooge.

That is definitely another classic version. I'm interested to see where this newest one will stack up amongst the rest. I guess a lot of it depends on how Jim Carrey performs as Scrooge, as well as the 3 ghosts. The fact that he's playing the 4 main characters, which hasn't be done before in any of the older versions, might separate this one from the others.

We liked it a lot. I thought the CG was quite stunning.
Not sure if it's for real small kids though.

My wife and I took our 4 year old to see this on Sunday, and I would have to say that it was a little scary at some points in the movie. I don't think I would reccomend this movie for the small kids. Plus, there is a ton of storytelling and at times I could hear the kids in the theatre growing restless.

I thought it was good. Not great, but good. If it were to come on a premium channel during the holidays I'm sure I'd turn it on.

I was really impressed by the 3D graphics. I love the camera work when Scrooge was being whisked through the streets of the town. It felt like I was on some sort of roller coaster. I thought Carrey did an excellent job as Scrooge. It's pretty evident that he's a talented actor.

My wife an I went this past weekend, and she turned to me and asked why Jim Carey was so skinny, I looked at her and asked if she was serious....that it was animation. I guess with the 3D glasses and the superb computer animation, she was fooled.
Very good movie, but little ones could find some parts a bit scary.

Sounds great! But Walt Disney's 100 Years Of Magic is also a good cartoon movie.
