Im glad it made so much money so we can see a sequel. Each year the effects are gonna get better and better since they already have the assets from the previous movie. We had less than a dozen robots in the first one, this one we had at least 20. For the next we may even see some Cybertron.

If you like special effects over plot , storyline , and dialogue chances are you'll like it . But this sequel had none of the humor or cleverness of the first . It has many of the same characters , sophmoric humor , terrible dialogue and plot . See it if you must , but a huge dropoff in the second week wouldn't surprise me at all !
I agree, the first one was better!

I loved it. I could not care less what the idiotic critics say. PS, the "Critics" gave it a 22% on Rotten tomatoes, but the fans gave it a 68% positive. Critics are idiots who get paid to try to tell me what I'm supposed to like. Funny thing is, I have this brain in my head that surprisingly allows me to make up my own mind.

Personally, I thought the second was excellent. It was a HUGE nod to the fans of the original cartoon and followed the framework perfectly. I never once thought it was too long. If you are going to an action movie to see character development, you have got to be kidding me. It's an ACTION movie. You want serious character development and artistic non-sense, go see the other sister. This movie did not once pretend to be anything other than a big action movie with a lot of explosions. It was fun, and that's all it tried to be. It's not supposed to make you think, it's supposed to allow you to stop thinking and forget about the world for a couple hours.

Granted it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's not supposed to be. If you want to have fun, check your brain at the door, watch a couple robots bash the crap out of each other, laugh a little and move on. Don't expect some social commentary on life here people.

I thought it was on par with the first.

I agree with MOB 100%!! I thought it was more inline with the cartoons as far as the catch prases and the characters!! If you go back there is actually alot of humor in the cartoons and "Let's roll" was the Autobots signature phrase as in "Autobots let's roll!!" hence autobots that have wheels!!! Also I hate that everything gets taken out of context such as the twins are too "stereotypical"!!! If you think about it ALL movies ARE stereotypical!!!

I enjoyed the heck out of it, I love Bay movies just for the fact that they will be over the top!!

I agree, I read the critics just to help decide if the movie is a go to the theater or a Netflix rental.

I find most critics are much more interested in proving their superior taste and knowledge and write to show how much superior they are to J6P consumer, who they ultimately look down on as lower life forms.

I'll never forget all the local newspaper critics just bashing the hell out "Dancing with Wolves", they gave it 1 to 2 stars and said you would be better off just burning your money rather then waste on this terrible movie.

It was so terrible that it took home the "Best Picture Oscar" that year.

Thank gawd they saved us from wasting our time and money!

Currently, according to the All Time Box Office for the US, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has earned $293,459,000 since its release.

That puts it at #31 on the all-time-list with the new Star Trek movie at #50.

The first Transformers movie is listed at #20 with earning $319,246,193 since its release.

Could the negatively reviewed "Revenge of the Fallen" overtake the positive reviewed "Transformers"?

It just kicked Jurassic Park to the curb, now it is at #13 and on the heels of "The Passion of Christ"...just needs 7 million more to take its spot.

There appears to be no stopping the income generating power of this movie.

Now at the #10 spot it has passed SpiderMan2 and Lord of the Rings The Return of the King.

Star Wars Episode III is in danger of being demoted by this Transformer beast

It has just passed Star Wars III and is now at the #9 spot of the All Time Box Office U.S. list.

Spiderman is the next one...but can Transformers 2 get the extra $20 Million to pass spidey?

I believe it will.

Here are the numbers from Tuesday which are a bit higher than what your link shows and it is still the #6 film out there:
