Manufacturer of the Year
09 October 2009 Winner: LG LG has been 'up and coming' for at least two years and this year they've up and come, with the release of four flagship handsets in the last six months and devices that hit every segment from entry-level to fashion-forward, high-meg camera phones to multimedia monsters. They've consistently improved their touch-screen technology, with the last few being swipe-friendly, capacitive iPhone-style displays, and have a real knack for making incredibly sleek, stylish phones too. And in a credit-crunched year, they've racked up some impressive profits thanks to high-selling phones like the Arena and Cookie (one million and five million units sold respectively). But it's not just LG's mainstream appeal, it's their innovation in products like the Watch Phone (left), and the recent New Chocolate BL40, which packs cinematic high-res widescreen in possibly the world's skinniest, longest chassis. Also on the shortlist HTC Nokia Samsung Sony Ericsson http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...+the+Year/4109 Phone of the year Winner: HTC Hero http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/P...+the+year/4114 Best Camera Phone Winner: Samsung Pixon 12 http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/B...era+Phone/4113 MOBILE CHOICE CONSUMER AWARDS: Best Mobile Game Winner: Zombie Infection (Gameloft) http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...bile+Game/4110 Mobile Choice Green Award Sony Ericsson Naite deemed most eco-friendly phone http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...een+Award/4121 MOBILE CHOICE CONSUMER AWARDS: Most Stylish Phone Winner: LG New Chocolate BL40 http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...ish+Phone/4106 MOBILE CHOICE CONSUMER AWARDS: Best handset for Social Networking Winner: INQ1 http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...etworking/4105 MOBILE CHOICE CONSUMER AWARDS: Best Multimedia Phone Winner: Samsung i8910HD http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...dia+Phone/4104 MOBILE CHOICE CONSUMER AWARDS: Readers' Dream Phone Winner: Apple iPhone 3GS http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...eam+Phone/4103 MOBILE CHOICE CONSUMER AWARDS: Best Mobile Sat Nav Winner: Nokia N86 8MP http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...e+Sat+Nav/4101 MOBILE CHOICE CONSUMER AWARDS: Best Bluetooth Headset Winner: Plantronics Voyager Pro http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...h+Headset/4108 MOBILE CHOICE CONSUMER AWARDS: Best Network Winner: O2 http://www.mobilechoiceuk.com/News/M...t+Network/4111 Cheers. |

HTC Hero is just the phone of the year....I like it very much except its big body cause it doesn't fit for pocket. And iPhone 3GS is really the dream phone for most people. Most of my friends are using that and they say it's more than a phone.

The wards cannot tell everything about phones, but it tells the consumers something at least. I just hope it helps those who need to buy a new phone in making the decision.

I love my HTC Fuze/Tilt. I love a QWERTY keyboard, so the iPhone is out of the running.
