Panasonic Tuner not receiving digital HD channels

I have a Panasonic plasma #TH37PX6OU with a direct cable input from Time Warner in Raleigh. Since purchase 2 years ago, I have received HD channels on 5.1, 11.1, 17.1, and 50.1 stations in Raleigh, NC where I live. When I returned from a recent vacation, all these channels were gone.

I called Time Warner and they acknowledged a problem with remapping these channels. They came to my house and were able to get the channels on a 17" LCD TV they brought and hooked to my cable, but my Panasonic did not scan the channels. I called Panasonic, and they sent an SD card download of software to fix the problem of not being able to scan digital channels once lost But, their fix did not work.

Each new scan results in 1 or 2 digital channels that work and the rest do not work. There seems to be a different mix of channels with each digital scan.

I appreciate any help I can get on why my tuner is suddenly having this problem of not picking up these HD over the air broadcasts from the local Raleigh stations?? Thanks for any suggestions.

The standards for Digital reception between what Panasonic used when the television was designed and now are slightly different.

You are confusing over the air - outside antenna with cable television.

More than likely - if your problem is with the cable company, there is not much you can do if their programming is different than what your television can receive.

To receive over the air television - you would either have to switch how the television receives its signal, analog to digital or input channel and have a outdoors antenna.

Call Panasonic or buy another television or get a cable converter receiver box.

Thanks for the feedback..as an update, over the weelkend I moved the TV and connected the Panasonic in my daughters bedroom. She has a Toshiba LCD with direct cable TV input and picks up all the local OTA HD broadcast channels such as 5.1 (CBS) and 11.1(ABC ) in HD. I connected the Panasonic Plasma which is only a 2 year old set and did not get the HD channels picked-up by my daughters Toshiba. I spoke with Panasonic last week and they sent me an SD card with a software update , but it did not correct the problem. The problem first appeared when the TWC cable company had some remapping of channel issues, but only the Panasonic is unable to pick-up the digital signals once the cable company has now fixed their problem. Each scan with the Panasonic seems to pick up a different set of HD channels (only 1 or 2 out o of 10-12 that should be found)..Any suggestions??
