Default What the Federal Government Should Have Done...

This is a joke, but also a true story...

My friend has a 3-year-old son who seems to have trouble with temper tantrums. Within a 3-month span, he broke two TV sets by throwing a toy truck through the screen. This inspired an idea to solve the Fed’s recent problems in response to President Obama extending the DTV transition deadline.

The Federal government could use 3-year old boys to solve problems related to DTV converter boxes, such as supply shortages and the government’s wasteful decision to fund discount coupons for their purchase, along with the budget deficit that resulted. Millions of tax dollars could be saved by a new government program designed to eliminate the need for consumers to purchase converter boxes, thus eliminating the need for federal funding of such boxes for consumers.

The program would employ teams of toddlers to be sent to the homes of Americans using analog TV sets to watch over-the-air broadcasts using an antenna. The children would then proceed to throw toy trucks through the screens of such television sets. Since TV sets with broken screens are obviously not worth repairing, people would need to discard them and purchase new TV sets that already include a digital tuner.

Had this program been put into effect in 2007 when new TV sets were initially required to have digital-ready tuners, the FCC could have easily kept the original DTV transition date previously scheduled for February 17, 2009.

Ya I think our Military should be run by three year olds too...that way they can run there Hum-Vs through the enemy camps...that way they could say "My Bad" oops .

Sure the coupon program for the converter boxs was a bad idea...I would have gladly payed a one time charge of 40 or 50 bucks to get free tv...well not including some new antenna equipment..but still its was a bargain

Didn't we sent the 3-year-olds to congress? They sure get along like 3-year-olds.
